Come out to Southern Revere Cellars this Saturday for an afternoon filled with cars, community and a great cause! Bring your family, invite your friends, take a swing at some vehicles and help support Giving Words and the local single moms we serve. Every dollar raised helps provide transportation assistance and other resources that can make a real difference for a family working toward a more stable future.

Transportation can make all the difference in a family’s day-to-day life. For local single mothers, something as simple as worn tires can quickly become a major obstacle and make it harder to get to work, school, appointments and the places their families need to go. At Giving Words, we’re here for all kinds of transportation needs, from vehicle repairs to car giftings. Sometimes the need is big, and sometimes it’s as simple as a set of safe, reliable tires, but every bit of help can bring a little more peace of mind and a lot more security.

When this mother desperately needed two new tires for her vehicle, our friends at Airport Road Auto Center stepped in to help make it happen. Together, we were able to give her and her boys a safer way to keep moving forward.

“I’m so grateful to Giving Words. They helped my boys and I get two tires I desperately needed, and I am very appreciative for the help.”

This is what community looks like, coming alongside a family when they need it most and reminding them they don’t have to face it alone.

A reliable vehicle can mean so much more than getting from Point A to Point B. For a single mother, it can mean getting to work, taking her children to school, making it to appointments and simply having the freedom to keep moving forward. Each year, our partnership with the Louisa Career & Technical Education program gives local students the opportunity to put their skills to work restoring and repairing vehicles for single mothers in our community.

Together, we’re doing more than fixing cars—we’re helping remove barriers, create opportunities, and remind moms that they have a community standing beside them. As one mother we helped shared with The Washington Post, “It’s not just about the car. It’s about community.”
