We are incredibly grateful to Wolverine Boots & Apparel for their generous donation to students in the Louisa Career & Technical Education program. “Giving Words was such an on-time blessing for me.”

As a single mother living with a chronic illness and traumatic brain injury after a life-changing accident, life has not been easy for this brave mom. After years of struggling with unreliable transportation, feeling taken advantage of by repair shops and trying to navigate difficult circumstances on her own, she turned to Giving Words for help. From the kindness and patience shown our staff throughout the application process, to the compassion and care from the repair shop team who went above and beyond to make her vehicle safe again, every step reminded her she wasn’t alone.

“My whole experience has been nothing but blessings from start to finish. When I see and drive my car, whether that’s taking my daughter to school, or going to physical therapy, I smile to myself constantly. My heart feels good. I feel safe knowing that everyone had my best interest at heart. The foundation from start to finish is built off love, patience, joy, and gratitude… a remarkable experience.”

This mother’s journey is one of incredible strength in the face of overwhelming change. Just one month postpartum, she found herself navigating the loss of her vehicle, a temporary gap in employment and the sudden displacement from her home after her apartment was deemed uninhabitable. In her own words, she felt the weight of it all: “I was so down and depressed… I felt like I was losing everything.”

And yet, she held on—waiting, trusting, and continuing forward in faith. A few months later, that hope turned into reality when she was matched with a donated vehicle through Giving Words. That gift didn’t just restore transportation, it restored independence, stability, and peace of mind for her and her children.

“I really cried tears of joy and relief… it just didn’t feel real. Giving Words has been such a blessing for me and my two small children by gifting us a car. I am so thankful to be blessed with another car to be able to get my kids around and doing for myself again without having to be dependent on others and get myself back together!!”

We are deeply honored to be part of stories like this—where generosity meets faith, and where families are given the chance to rebuild.
