Lone Star Quilt Raffle

This quilt was made by the Lawrence County KY Genealogical & Historical Society, Inc. for the purpose of raising money for the society. The pattern was picked from the photo of Beverly Estep’s great grandmother (Clista Margaret Green – wife of Merridith Oliver McKenzie). Clista was born 9 Apr 1876 and died 26 Oct 1914.

The Quilt in the photo is a variation of the Lone Star Quilt pattern. The material is Moda reproduction of the Civil War Time Period. Cotton batting was used and unbeached muslin for the backing. The Quilt is machine pieced, but hand quilted. The size is 74“ wide x 86” long.

We ask for a donation of $10.00 per raffle ticket, or 3 tickets for $25.00 with a maximum of 500 tickets. We will do a drawing to find the winner of the quilt on September 24, 2022 (At the Eastern KY Genealogical Conference at the Lawrence County Public Library, Louisa, KY.) .

The Eastern Kentucky Genealogy & History Conference at the Lawrence County Public Library at Louisa, KY has been CANCELED.
The featured speaker for our September 18th meeting at the Lawrence County Library has cancelled due to the Corona virus; and after consulting with our board members, it is in the best interest of our members to also cancel the meeting.

The Eastern Kentucky Genealogy Conference for Sep 2020 has been CANCELLED. Due to ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 virus we are cancelling this year's conference. We plan to resume next year. As soon as we have a new date for 2021 we will post the information. Thank you to all that have supported our efforts in the past.
