Even though summer has started, a few members of the Cougar Band have been staying busy! This morning, they attended a marching/choreography camp, where they soaked up every bit of knowledge they could. They worked for hours and had the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the field!

We are blessed to work with students who are always looking for ways to improve. Nobody forced them to be there this morning, yet they showed up, learned, and invested in themselves and our program. That kind of dedication is what continues to push us forward, and I couldn't be more proud of them.

A huge shout-out to The Band Blueprint team for pouring into our students. Small schools don't always have access to opportunities like this, and we're grateful for everything y'all do to help give our students the tools they need to succeed and stay competitive. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and passion with us today!

Now it's time to take what we've learned and get to work. Summer Band Camp is right around the corner!

So proud to announce that all 3 of our band selections have advanced to the next round of the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series! Our kids continue to prove that success isn't determined by your school size or where you come from. These results show that it’s earned through commitment and excellence. And now our middle school band!!

Our MS band students enjoyed their annual end of year trip, beginning with an exciting visit to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB). Students had the opportunity to tour the beautiful campus, learn more about UMHB’s outstanding music programs, and see some new and exciting instruments. They also explored the stadium and several historical landmarks around campus, gaining a deeper appreciation for the university’s rich traditions and history.

After the tour, the group enjoyed lunch at Cicis Pizza before heading to Summer Fun USA in Belton for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and memories with friends.

This trip is one of the ways we celebrate our students’ dedication, growth, and accomplishments throughout the school year. We are incredibly proud of each and every student and the continued success of our middle school band program. Their hard work, commitment, and positive attitudes have made this year one to remember!

Thank you to our students, families, supporters, and Rosebud-Lott Band Boosters for making this year such a success. We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved summer break!!!

What a great way to wrap up an incredible year!

The Rosebud-Lott Cougar Band’s end of the year trip was filled with fun, learning, and well-earned celebration. Our students first had the opportunity to tour the UT Arlington Music Building and get a glimpse into collegiate music programs before spending the rest of the day at Six Flags Over Texas.

This trip was a chance to recognize the dedication, growth, and hard work these students have shown throughout the year. We’re so proud of all they’ve accomplished and grateful for the memories made along the way.

A special thank you to the Rosebud-Lott Band Boosters for their planning, coordination, and financial support that helped make this trip possible for our students. Your commitment to our band program and our students is truly appreciated.

What an incredible weekend for our talented musicians at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest!

Back in February, these students performed their
Class 1 solos and ensembles exceptionally, earning a ticket to STATE!!! The Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest brings together the top solo and ensemble performers from across the entire state, making it a super prestigious opportunity for young musicians in Texas. To even qualify is a HUGE accomplishment.

As always, our students represented our program with so much class and professionalism. Here are the results of yesterday’s contest!

- Perry Lorenz, receiving a good rating on his trumpet solo.
- Maggie Grace, receiving an excellent rating on her flute solo.
- Katarina Powell, receiving an excellent rating on her mallet solo!
- Jesus Costilla for earning a superior rating on his trumpet solo and receiving a GOLD MEDAL!

We also want to recognize our incredible Woodwind Trio (Maggie Grace, Carrianne Lorenz, and Ta’Marion Travis) for earning an excellent rating on their ensemble performance!

These students continue to raise the standard of excellence for our program, and we are beyond proud of each and every one of them. Way to represent at the highest level! Help us in congratulating our wonderful kiddos!

Today was such a special day for our Rosebud-Lott Middle School Concert Band students as they took the stage for the very first time at UMHB. Watching these students perform on a real stage and absolutely shine was an incredible moment.

The growth they have shown throughout this school year has been nothing short of amazing. From their very first notes together to today’s performance, they have worked hard and grown in confidence. We could not be more proud of the dedication, perseverance, and heart they brought to their performance today. The judges had a ton of wonderful things to say!

These students did a phenomenal job, and this performance is only the beginning. I am so excited to see all they continue to accomplish in the near future. The future of this program is incredibly bright! 🎶

We are thrilled to officially announce our 2026–2027 Color Guard members!

Please join us in congratulating this incredible group of girls. We are beyond excited to see all that they will accomplish this season. A special shoutout to all of our members who attended fundamental camps. Your commitment to growing your skills and representing our program does not go unnoticed. Ladies and gentlemen, we are happy to announce our 2026-2027 Drum Majors: Haylee Alexis and Ta’Marion Travis! This dynamic duo is ready to spring into action and bring forth their best effort!

We are incredibly proud of all our candidates who auditioned yesterday and represented our program in the best ways. The leadership within the Cougar Band is incredibly strong and admirable. We can’t WAIT to “ignite” the field this coming fall!

Today, a select group of our sixth grade students had the incredible opportunity to perform as part of the Spring Valley Honor Band. It was truly a blast to watch them grow and shine throughout the day. Days like this are so meaningful. We love to be able to give our students experiences they’ll never forget, to inspire them, and to help them see just how much they’re capable of. So proud of each and every one of them!
