Support our snappers by keeping an eye on the road, especially this month, as mother snapping turtles leave the water to find places to lay their eggs..

1. Most snapping turtles don't reach egg-laying age until they are 17 years old or older!
2. It is legal to commercially fish snapping turtles in Maryland year-round.
3. Little is scientifically known about the population health of snapping turtles in Maryland.

Together we can give our snapping turtles a break (and a brake! 🚗🛑)
