Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers - CCCMB

Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers - CCCMB The mission of CCCMB is to expand the network of sustainable and enjoyable trails in SLO County and to maintain the trails currently in use.

CCCMB began simply as a group of cyclists coming together out of concern about a proposed closing of one of the Central Coast's gems, Montaña de Oro State Park, to mountain bikes. In 1987, amid rumors about the impending closure, we met with State Park staff and volunteered to work to repair erosion problems thought to be associated with mountain bike use on the trails. Since that initial contact,

we've expanded our volunteer efforts to include many levels of trail maintenance and construction. As a direct result of our work, trails are still open to cyclists at Montaña de Oro State Park and elsewhere in our region. In 1989, we decided to organize formally as the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers (CCCMB). We did so to support and affiliate with the fledgling International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) and to give ourselves a cohesive presence here on our Central Coast home. We follow land access issues and try to prevent problems from developing to the point of closure by working with land-managers and by offering positive suggestions and ideas.

✨Sawpi Workday THIS SATURDAY!✨

Saturday, August 22, we’re heading back to Sapwi for another trail-building adventure, and we’d love to have you with us! The Sapwi Trail is a multi-use trail for equestrians, hikers/trail runners, and mountain bikers, and we are super excited about the progress that has been made so far!

Because of the summer heat, this will be a half-day workday, making it the perfect opportunity to get outside, give back, and still have the rest of your weekend ahead of you ☀️

👉Meet at: Santa Margarita Lake Marina
⏰Arrive by: 7:45 AM (boat departs at 8:00 AM)

We’ll provide the tools and lunch; just bring sturdy shoes, gloves, plenty of water and sun protection! 😎

When you arrive at the ranger kiosk, let them know you’re there for trail work and your park entry fee will be waived.

A huge thanks to Back Country Horsemen - Los Padres Unit, who have generously provided sandwiches for the day. We also want to give a big shoutout to our generous sponsors for supporting our volunteers with raffle prizes:
