Kusoma International - Laurenti Mohochi Educational Foundation Kusoma - LMEF is named after the father of Sangai Mohochi, faculty member with the Stanford University Swahili Department.

Kusoma - LMEF is a nonprofit organization created to enable access to quality education for children of impoverished and marginalized communities (particularly in the Kuria District of Kenya). The vision of Kusoma International - Laurenti Mohochi Educational Foundation is that all underserved children - regardless of gender - will, through education, have a positive impact on their community and the world.

The new term starts with connection.

Before books opened, our scholars sat down together, shared a meal, shared their stories, and welcomed the newest member of the Kusoma family, Daniel (Class of 2026), alongside our 2024 scholars Diana and Joseph.
