The Los Gatos High School choir performed at the Los Gatos Lions Club meeting. They were outstanding under the direction of Maricel Riley. This award winning choir performs locally and internationally. The Lions support the school music program.

The Los Gatos Lions Club first round of the annual Lions of California Student Speaker's contest took place at their weekly meeting. Five Los Gatos High School students participated. This year's topic is, “Youth Mental Health: Overcoming Barriers to Well-Being”, is both timely and deeply meaningful. Mental health is a cornerstone of success in school, at home, and in life. Yet, many young people face stigma, access challenges, and systemic barriers that make it difficult to seek help and thrive. By inviting students to speak on this subject, we not only raise awareness but also empower them to be advocates, allies, and leaders in shaping healthier, more compassionate communities. Conner Krawez is the Club level winner and will move on to the Zone level. Money and scholarships are awarded at each of the 7 levels. The final award is $10,000. Lion Denise Ramón Herrera is the Club level chairman.

The annual Los Gatos Lions Club Cioppino Dinner was outstanding. Thank you to all who donated, sponsored, attended, worked and served at the event. Because of you, the event was successful. Proceeds benefit the Lions Club Charities. See you next year.

Outstanding program presentation by Los Gatos Lions Club member Alex Shultz. He presented history and memories about his father George P. Shultz, who served under presidents Nixon and as Secreary of State for Regan. He showed films of his father’s swearing by Reagan and on receiving “The Medal of Freedom”. He also shared the emotional heartfelt times of family dynamics with his father's career.

Join us to hear the featured speaker at the weekly Los Gatos Lions Club meeting on Wednesday, January 28, at the Masonic Lodge. Lion member Alex Shultz will be speaking about the memories of his late father, George P. Shultz. He was an American economist, businessman, diplomat, and statesman who served in various positions under Presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. A member of the Republican Party, he is one of the only two persons to have held four different Cabinet-level posts. He was awarded the Medal of Freedom by President Reagan in 1989. Los Gatos Lions Club presenting a $20,000 check at the High School board meeting https://www.lgsuhsd.org/ for the Los Gatos High School Wellness Center. The donation provides funding for the Canine comfort dogs provided at the center. It is a very successful support program for the students. This year’s Christmas Parade Grand Marshal Kurt Kroeshe, with Parade chairman Los Gatos Lions Club member Rick Miller. Kurt is a renowned beloved educator at Los Gatos High School and has taught english for 30 years. He is also an avid swimmer and the swim coach at LGHS. Congratulations Kurt. !!!!
