A key milestone for 2025 was being recognized by Forbes where 2nd Chance 4 Pets was featured in this article this past October. We truly appreciate all the pet owners, animal welfare organizations, pet sitters, and veterinarians across the US who have shared our resources to encourage pet owners to plan for the possibility that our pets might outlive them. 📬 USPS now applies postmarks at regional facilities and may require several days to be processed. This means that gifts mailed in late December may not be postmarked until January. Under IRS guidelines, charitable gifts must be postmarked by December 31, 2025 to qualify for a 2025 tax deduction.

Since 2004, our all-volunteer nonprofit has provided free resources to help pet owners plan for the possibility that their pets might outlive them.

More than 500,000 pets are surrendered to shelters every year when their owners pass away or become too ill to care for them. Shelter overpopulation is at crises levels and our work is more important than ever.

Thank you to our community for being an important part of our lifesaving efforts. We are truly grateful for the support we receive.

Educating pet owners so fewer pets are surrendered to shelters, reduces the number of pets euthanized, alleviating the strain on overburdened animal welfare organizations, and providing peace of mind to pet owners.
