Today is National Pig Day and we’d like to give a special shout out to our lovely pig, Junebug, who joined our barn last summer and has won all of us over with her soft eyes, funny personality and friendly disposition around kids and adults!
Junebug is a Kunekune pig who came to us as a rescue and we love her so much! She is always ready for a treat or belly rub from anyone willing to get a little dirty (she LOVES her mud pit). She is very gentle and smart… even knows that she has to sit before getting her meals or a treat. She has grown a lot in the past year and her favorite snack is pumpkin. Her favorite game is to tug on the hose as we spray her down on hot days or refill her water!
Did you know that pigs are incredibly intelligent, full of personality, playful, emotional, and have great memories? We are even working on teaching her more tricks and walking on a leash. We hope you get a little pig love next time you visit the barn!
