Save the Lexington Newts

Save the Lexington Newts About 5,000 newts are killed every year by cars and bikes on Alma Bridge Road, the Lexington Reservoir County Park’s only access road.

We would like to make this road safer for the beleaguered local population of Pacific newts.

Great news! Our first assisted newt migration was a success! The team gathered at 4:45 pm at the Lexington Reservoir and for two hours helped scores of newts safely cross the road. It was lots of fun and very rewarding. Let us know in the comments if you’d like more information on how to participate in future assisted migration events.
