This year’s Leo Aguilar Walk/Run for Fun** saw our largest crowd in 14 years, and it’s all thanks to our incredible community! Your dedication, hard work, and support made this event truly special. We’re so grateful to each and every one of you for helping make this day one to remember.

The Leo Aguilar Foundation had an incredible 2023.

We're are so very grateful for to all of the students, staff, volunteers, faculty, and administrators that partnered with us and made our 14th Annual walk/run an AMAZING success.

A BIG SHOUT OUT goes to Claudia Medina-Garcia, Yvette Perez and the rest of the Family Engagement Office for always being there with us, every step of the way.

Thank You LFHS Principal Justin Stumbaugh, Mark Milum City of Los Fresnos City manager, City of Los Fresnos Police Dept (The Chief, Juan Rodriguez, and team), Constable Precinct 4 Merced Burnias (and team) for working with the city and keeping our runners and walkers safe out on the course.

Thank You to Athletic Director/Head Football Coach David Cantu for your continued support. Thank you Mr. Rolando Borrayo and your team for always being helpful with our setups early in the morning and tearing down afterwards.

Thank you to Superintendent Gonzalo Salazar, forever grateful for your unwavering support and making our foundation a part of Los Fresnos CISD.

Each year, the school with the most participants takes home the Leo Aguilar Walk/Run Trophy. Past winners of the trophy have been: Los Fresnos Elementary 2X winner (2016 & 2021), Dora Romero Elementary 2X winner (2013 & 2014), and Rancho Verde Elementary 6X winner (2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019).

This year the trophy is back in San Benito with our friends from Dr. C.M. Cash Elementary. Congratulations to Coach Damaris Garcia and Coach Patricia Pena and the entire team at Dr. C.M. Cash Elementary BACK 2 BACK Champs!!
