ARMANI MADE IT OUT. 😭🩵

He sat at Downey shelter waiting for someone to see him. Like so many black dogs in our shelters, Armani was overlooked again and again. When I emailed the shelter and inquired about him, they said he must leave by 5pm or he would be euthanized. No further extensions, no exceptions. His life was hanging in the balance while he waited for just one person to see him and say yes

And finally, someone did.

Because people shared, advocated, pledged, and refused to let him disappear, Armani is SAFE.

He gets a tomorrow. He gets to learn what love feels like. He gets the life he should have always had. 🥹🐾

10 minutes.

That’s how long I was standing outside Lancaster shelter waiting for them to bring out the dog I was picking up.

In those TEN MINUTES, I watched 11 more dogs and puppies get dropped off.

Three were owner surrenders.

The others? People from the area bringing in dogs that had literally been DUMPED on their property.

Eleven dogs in ten minutes.

And everyone wonders why the shelters are overflowing. Why dogs are being euthanized for space. Why rescues are drowning. Why we are constantly begging for fosters and donations.

This is why.

We cannot save them if we have nowhere to put them.
We cannot save them if we don’t have the funds to provide food, medical care, supplies, boarding, training, and everything else that comes with saying “yes.”

And while rescues, fosters, volunteers, shelter workers, and networkers are scrambling every single day trying to keep these animals alive, people are STILL dumping dogs like they’re fu***ng garbage.

Spay and neuter your pets.
Stop breeding animals when shelters are killing healthy dogs and puppies because there is nowhere for them to go.
Stop getting animals you aren’t prepared to commit to for their entire lives.

And if you want to help us fight this:

PLEASE FOSTER.
PLEASE DONATE.
PLEASE ADOPT.

Every foster home that opens means we have a chance to say yes to another dog sitting in a shelter waiting for their time to run out.

We want to save more. We desperately want to save more.

But we cannot do it alone.

FOSTER. DONATE. ADOPT. SHARE.
Because the next dog being dropped off may only have days to make it back out alive.

✨ LANA UPDATE ✨

Our sweet Lana is doing SO well with her foster mama and soaking up every ounce of love and attention she can get. And in true Doberman fashion… she has officially become a full-time Velcro dog. ❤️

We’re still working on that weight loss journey lol 😑, but in the meantime, Lana is busy learning how to dog. 🥹 She’s discovering toys, figuring out how to play, getting those zoomies out, and then doing what she does best — climbing into bed for some serious snuggle time.

Watching her personality come out more and more has been the sweetest thing. She’s happy. She’s loved. She’s comfortable. And she’s finally getting to just enjoy being a dog. 🥹

10/10 foster mom when it comes to loving Lana.
Photography skills… we’re still working on those. 😂📸

We love you, Lana girl. ❤️

If you are able to donate for her continued care 👇🏼🙏🏻

Remember Twigs? They were going to euthanize him at just 6 weeks old. 💔

We couldn’t let that happen.

We rescued tiny Twig from the OC shelter, got him the medical care he needed, and gave him time to gain weight and get stronger.

And LOOK AT HIM NOW. 🥹😭

Twig has been absolutely THRIVING in his foster home. He’s healthy, happy, growing like crazy, and this week he officially got neutered! 🎉

Which means…

TWIG IS READY FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! 🏡🐾

He fought for his chance to grow up. Now he just needs someone to choose him forever. ❤️

ONE NIP ALMOST COST BURTON HIS FOREVER HOME. 💔

He had someone waiting for him.

Someone who wanted him.
Someone who knew he had challenges.
Someone who had already lined up trainers.
Someone who was ready to do the work.
Someone who wanted to love this senior boy for the rest of his life. ❤️

But shelter life had taken its toll on Burton.

When he first arrived, he did well with people and other dogs in the yard. As time passed, the stress became too much. He became scared and defensive.

Then a shelter worker reached their hands into his kennel.

Burton nipped.

And suddenly, he was labeled RESCUE ONLY.

Just like that, the woman waiting to adopt him was told she couldn’t.

I couldn’t accept that.

I contacted the shelter and pleaded with them to reconsider. Email after email, I asked them to look at Burton’s entire history instead of defining him by ONE frightened reaction inside a stressful kennel and reassess him.

He already had what so many shelter dogs desperately need:

A person willing to choose him, even when it wasn’t going to be easy.

And finally…

THEY LISTENED. 😭❤️

The rescue-only label was REMOVED.

His adopter was allowed to take him.

And Burton walked out of that shelter and went straight to his trainer to begin the next chapter of his life. 🥹🐾

This is why we advocate.
This is why we speak up.
And this is why we don’t give up when a dog’s life or future is hanging in the balance.

Sometimes saving a life means pulling a dog into your rescue.

And sometimes it means fighting like hell to make sure the home already waiting for them gets the chance to take them home.

Happy freedom day, Burton. ❤️

You were never your worst moment.
And you were absolutely worth fighting for. 🐾🏡

Please honor your pledges and make sure you note it’s for Burton! They will be sent directly to the trainer. 👇🏼

Lucky Ducky 💚

Some dogs leave the shelter because someone refuses to give up on them. Lucky Ducky is one of those dogs.

This sweet 2-year-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix was brought into the Palmdale shelter as a stray. Just two short weeks later, he was scheduled to be euthanized.

never stopped sending messages, searching for options, and fighting to find a way to save him. When every hour mattered, she kept pushing until we finally found the solution he so desperately needed and put all the pieces together.

Today, Lucky Ducky is safe with a temporary foster, where he’ll spend the next two weeks before heading to the forever home that’s been waiting for him all along. 🏡✨

Lucky Ducky, your life was always worth fighting for. We can’t wait to watch this next chapter unfold. ❤️🐾

Snookie is safe with the happiest ending. 💕

Snookie is just a puppy and at 9 months she was scheduled to be euthanized at the Lancaster Animal Shelter.

She was so shut down and terrified that she had to be carried out of the shelter. When she arrived at her foster home, she was too scared to even walk outside. Her foster family gently carried her out for potty breaks, giving her all the patience and love she needed.

From the very beginning, her foster brother, Buzz, never left her side.

He comforted her, gave her confidence, and showed her that the world wasn’t such a scary place after all.

The two became inseparable.

In fact, before I even had the chance to post Snookie’s freedom reel announcing she was safe and up for adoption, her foster family had already made their decision.

There was no way they were going to separate her from Buzz.

Snookie had found her forever home

These are the stories that remind me why we do this. Sometimes the perfect family is waiting before we even know it.

Happy forever, sweet Snookie. You were always meant to stay. 🐾🤍
