Your legislators need to hear from YOU today. We're calling for $40 million for the Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund (PAEPF).

That investment means: fair pay for creative workers and equitable access to funding resources to underrepresented cultural groups and geographic regions. The Jewish Symphony was one of the lucky organizations to receive a PAEPF grant last year, and it has made such a difference for us.

Pick up the phone. Call your lawmakers and demand they fund the arts here: https://secure.everyaction.com/IsPhlmpbKkK1OLB_Am6qgg2

Enter your voter registration address, and the system will find your representatives and provide a reference script.

Additionally, call Assembly Budget Chair Jesse Gabriel’s office directly at (818) 380-2460 to make your voice heard!

THE DEADLINE IS MAY 22.

The Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund is up for renewal in the CA legislature, and we need your help to support the budget allocation of $40 million in the 2026–2027 budget.

The PAEPF was designed to strengthen California's small nonprofit performing arts organizations by helping them meet payroll, directly supporting working artists, small nonprofits, and their communities. We were very fortunate to receive a substantial grant during the program's inaugural year.

Actors' Equity Association has created a one-click letter to ask your legislators to support the $40 million budget ask for the PAEPF. Please take five minutes to send the pre-written letter at the link below and encourage your local lawmakers to support continued funding for the PAEPF and the performing arts!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the screening of Tenero's moving documentary “Symphony of the Holocaust” at Congregation Beth Shalom this past Sunday! We were proud to share Shony Alex Braun’s story with the incredible community in Santa Clarita.

Afterwards, Maestra Green and Jonathan Rubin delivered a moving performance, joined by vocal soloist Phyllis Fleschler. The morning wrapped up with an engaging audience Q&A featuring a panel that included Greg Dehart, the film’s director, and Sierra Griffin, granddaughter of Shony Alex Braun.

Thank you once again to everyone who made this morning so special!
