On August 6-8, our Maestra had the pleasure of attending the Association of California Symphony Orchestras’ (ACSO) Annual Conference! Hosted by the Santa Rosa Symphony, this conference is where 300 California orchestra leaders, administrators, and musicians come together to connect, share honestly, and leave with practical strategies they can actually use. Maestra Green was delighted to connect with members and leaders of symphonies and orchestras from across the state – thank you to the Association of California Symphony Orchestras and Santa Rosa Symphony for a wonderful conference!

As America celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence this Fourth of July, we also remember another defining moment in the history of freedom.

Fifty years ago, on July 4, 1976, Israel carried out the daring Raid on Entebbe, a mission that remains one of the most remarkable hostage rescue operations in modern history.

The Los Angeles Jewish Symphony has commemorated this historic event through several performances of Charles Fox's Victory at Entebbe Suite, a powerful musical tribute to the courage and determination of those who made the mission possible.

We invite you to watch this video as we honor the legacy of that heroic day.

Your legislators need to hear from YOU today. We're calling for $40 million for the Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund (PAEPF).

That investment means: fair pay for creative workers and equitable access to funding resources to underrepresented cultural groups and geographic regions. The Jewish Symphony was one of the lucky organizations to receive a PAEPF grant last year, and it has made such a difference for us.

Pick up the phone. Call your lawmakers and demand they fund the arts here: https://secure.everyaction.com/IsPhlmpbKkK1OLB_Am6qgg2

Enter your voter registration address, and the system will find your representatives and provide a reference script.

Additionally, call Assembly Budget Chair Jesse Gabriel’s office directly at (818) 380-2460 to make your voice heard!

THE DEADLINE IS MAY 22.

The Performing Arts Equitable Payroll Fund is up for renewal in the CA legislature, and we need your help to support the budget allocation of $40 million in the 2026–2027 budget.

The PAEPF was designed to strengthen California's small nonprofit performing arts organizations by helping them meet payroll, directly supporting working artists, small nonprofits, and their communities. We were very fortunate to receive a substantial grant during the program's inaugural year.

Actors' Equity Association has created a one-click letter to ask your legislators to support the $40 million budget ask for the PAEPF. Please take five minutes to send the pre-written letter at the link below and encourage your local lawmakers to support continued funding for the PAEPF and the performing arts!
