Survey data from PIQE, a Dual Language Learner Master Plan Advocates partner, highlights the gap between family interest in dual language programs and their awareness these programs exist. Listening sessions across the state reveal the same thing: families want an education system that respects and uplifts home language and culture, but they don’t know how to access education programs. This is especially true for our youngest dual language learners. More school-family engagement is needed to truly meet community needs.
