“Kotyku Sirenkyi” (Little Gray Cat), a traditional Ukrainian lullaby performed by Kobzar Choir.

We sang this piece during a memorial event in Los Angeles featuring an installation of 20,000 teddy bears honoring Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.

We dedicate this lullaby to every child who cannot hear it from their own family today.

Ділимось колисковою «Котику Сіренький» у виконанні хору Кобзар. Цю пісню ми заспівали під час меморіального заходу в Лос-Анджелесі, де було створено інсталяцію з 20 000 плюшевих ведмедиків на вшанування українських дітей, викрадених Росією.

Присвячуємо її всім дітям, які зараз не можуть почути колискову від своєї сім’ї.

Any tea meetup turns into a mini concert when you are in a choir.

This time, we’re singing a Ukrainian folk song from the Ivana Kupala tradition — one of the oldest and most mystical Slavic midsummer celebration, where ancient beliefs live on through bonfires, rituals honoring nature, and traditions of love and fortune-telling.

Last Saturday, we sang lullabies for the children who cannot hear them from their parents

It is difficult to comprehend, but more than 20,000 Ukrainian children have been taken by
russians from occupied territories, forcibly deported, illegally adopted, or remain missing. And these numbers may not reflect the full scale of the tragedy.
We pray for their safe return home , to their families, their loved ones, and their homeland.

This Saturday, Kobzar Choir will join an initiative in support of Ukrainian children who have been abducted by Russia.

In downtown Los Angeles, 20,000 teddy bears will be installed as a reminder of the thousands of children who have been unlawfully taken from Ukraine.

We will sing a Ukrainian lullaby for these kids who are currently unable to hear it from their families.

We invite you to join us in raising awareness of this crime and supporting efforts to bring Ukraine’s children home as soon as possible.

One of the main elements of our costumes is the Vyshyvanka — a Ukrainian embroidered shirt that serves as national clothing and an important talisman.

Today is International Vyshyvanka Day, which aims to preserve the Ukrainian folk traditions of creating and wearing this ethnic embroidered piece of clothing.

Vyshyvankas are worn both for celebrations and in everyday life, with each embroidered pattern reflecting a specific region and carrying its own symbolic meaning.
