Social Studies presents MOVE Est 2014
Brooklyn, NY
Dance for change Since its inception, there have been 49 MOVE events in Brooklyn, Washington DC and Philadelphia.

In November 2014, David Howard and Joe Dieuvil conceived MOVE, a “donation dance” party aimed at raising money for the less fortunate. Combining their love of music with a passion for assisting others, they wanted to begin a “MOVEment” where people (regardless of their race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, or sexual orientation) would come together to enjoy music, dance and raise money to

improve the the world around us. As a result of the selfless dedication of the MOVE team and the generosity of MOVE attendees, donees, supporters and volunteers, MOVE has danced to raise money to help fund lupus research, breast cancer treatments, the hearing impaired, childrens’ hospitals, orphanages & cancer research, a local animal shelter, music education, the Lower East Side Girls’ Club, a friend’s liver transplant, the American Brain Tumor Association, Food Bank NYC, Orphanage in Haiti, Smiles without Limitations, DIY Youth Center, Humans for Education, Planned Parenthood, and Nuday Syria. Our resident DJs include Matt Friedman, Lucas Lee and Very J. Past guest DJs include: Moon Boots, Eli Escobar, Bruce Bailey, Moon & Butter, John Cutler, Jordi Iven, We In Cloudz, Lloydski, Muffs + Mikola, Marite, David Paglia, Need & Necessity, Tuckahoe, Hendo + Neeko, Nicole Otero, Mez, Cassan, DJ Monique, Liz Lethal, Ace Baron, Moonchild, Taylor Proffitt, DJDatGurlCurly, Seth Hosko, Fabi Jugo & Freddie Framboise, Michael Nerlino, DKB, Allies for Everyone and Said the Rabbit.
