💡 Career tip: Give yourself credit for the problems you solve!

Did you help someone learn a new task, organize a project, or resolve a customer concern? Write it down!

Keep a simple “career wins” list: What was the problem? What did you do? What improved because of your effort?

These examples can help you update your résumé and answer interview questions with confidence. Experience from volunteering and class projects counts, too!

Career preparation grows stronger with community support! ❤️

Our recent Learning & Networking Mixer brought participants and alumni from our Entry-Level Career Training for Women program together for practical guidance and meaningful connections.

Thank you to Mr. J. Chun, owner of TechOnSite Corporation, for sharing insights into IT, cybersecurity, industry expectations, and professional integrity. Attendees especially appreciated his advice to document the problems they solve and learn to communicate both the problem and the solution.

We’re also proud of alumna Michelle Newsome, who presented her capstone project and answered questions, showing the cohort how to organize a presentation, explain findings, and communicate results.

A heartfelt shout-out to our industry volunteers for providing one-on-one career coaching, mock interviews, and résumé/LinkedIn reviews. Your feedback helped participants strengthen their interview responses, confidence, and application materials!

Our career panel included members of the Long Beach Church Collective: a school counselor, workforce development director, professor, and software developer. They discussed hiring standards and industry expectations, reviewed alumni résumés, and offered guidance on alumni career journeys.
