🚨WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! 🚨

In a broader effort to protect and advocate for resources for students, the Afrikan Black Coalition () has launched this reporting form to document anti-Black harm that prevents Black students from pursuing an education in a safe, affirming, & welcoming environment. In addition, this form is to document general violations of students’ right to speak, organize, and protest on campuses regardless of racial background.

All submissions will be handled with care, confidentiality, and used to inform advocacy, support, and response efforts. Your submission helps the Afrikan Black Coalition document injustice, mobilize, and exercise collective power within and outside of California’s educational systems.

You will have the option to decide how you would like the report to be submitted, anonymously or confidentially.

WHERE YOU NEED TO BE THIS SATURDAY‼️

This Saturday, April 4th, the 58th anniversary of Dr. King’s martyrdom, please join us at Cal State Los Angeles’ MLK Lecture Hall for a gathering of pro-Black radical thinkers, leaders, and cultural producers. Unity Uprising convenes in the spirit of the great convergences of the 1960s when Malcolm and Martin, the Panthers and liberation theologians, socialists and cultural nationalists held in tension the full complexity of Black freedom struggle and broke new ground in the struggle for collective liberation.

Rooted in African and Diasporic Radical Traditions, and hosted by professors Melina Abdullah and Butch Ware, this gathering brings together leading figures in movement politics, culture, and organizing. The goal is to revisit and resurrect traditions of resistance and rebellion, radicalism and revolution.

12:30-1 - Outdoor reception - Refreshments and check-in

1-2:30 PANEL #1 - Radical Politics, Organizing, and Movement Building

Panelists (Fernando Deveras, Melina Abdullah, Chris Smalls, Nina Turner)

2:45-4:15 PANEL #2 - Rebel Culture, Arts, and Maroon Media

‼️What are YOU doing to advance the struggle for Freedom and Liberation?

🛑It is easy to point out shortcomings, failures, and launch critiques of tactics from the sidelines of the movement. It is easy to say what someone should have done or what you would have done.

✅The real question is are YOU willing to get off the sidelines, join AND commit to an organization, and engage in principled study and struggle to advance your people in some way? Are you willing to join an organization and be ACCOUNTABLE to others and have your ideas and actions challenged? Are you willing to determine a collective plan and vision and work towards it with others for a sustained period of time?
