In March 2003, Operation Gratitude sent its first four care packages to deployed service members in Iraq. Since then, the nonprofit has successfully provided opportunities for millions of Americans to express their appreciation through hands-on volunteerism and has lifted the spirits of more than 3.3 million deployed troops, recruit graduates, veterans, military families, first responders, and healthcare heroes. Operation Gratitude is one of the largest and most impactful nonprofits in the country for hands-on volunteerism in support of the military, veterans, and first responders.

The knits and cards from our last Assembly Day have arrived to the Sailors serving abroad. 🧶

These hats and scarves were made by our wonderful volunteers, many of whom spent hours on each one. Others wrote cards and packed boxes. We received this heartfelt note from the Sailors:

"Thank you so much for sending these packages. My team was thrilled to receive your generous donations. Thank you again for all that you do for our Service Members!"

Thank you to everyone who knitted, crocheted, wrote, and packed. This work only happens because of you!

🚒 Volunteer Spotlight!

Last month, 16-year-old Greyson brought an Operation Gratitude Activation Box to his local fire station, along with bags of fruit and snacks for the crew. The firefighters loved the thoughtful gesture, and Greyson is already building a connection with the station he plans to keep supporting. 💙❤️

On top of being an honor roll student and elite junior golfer, Greyson used his golf platform to spread the word and inspire others to say thank you too! 🙌

On Saturday, November 14, we're hosting an assembly day at the Operation Gratitude FOB to help assemble 6,000 care packages for veterans, deployed troops, and their families. Every box packed is a small way to show our appreciation for the people who sacrifice so much. 💙❤️

Today is Gold Star Mother's and Family's Day.

For every service member who never came home, there is a family who carries that loss every single day. Gold Star families give something no one should ever have to give. They deserve to know that their loved one's service is remembered, and that they are not alone in carrying it.

📦 What does it mean to receive an Operation Gratitude care package?

For a service member deployed thousands of miles away, it's a reminder of home. For a first responder coming off a long shift, it's proof that their community sees them. For a veteran, it's a thank you that never expires.

Inside every package are snacks, essentials, and handmade items, but the part recipients talk about most is the handwritten letters. Words from strangers who took the time to say "we're grateful for you." Many recipients keep those letters for years. 💌

Meet the Virtual FOB, Operation Gratitude's online home base for volunteers. Getting started takes three steps:

1️⃣ Sign up with a short form
2️⃣ Pick a project and deliver gratitude to service members, veterans, and first responders near you
3️⃣ Share what you did to earn service hours, badges, and certificates
