The Upside Down is dark, but this set was completely green. 🚲

For Part 20 of our series, we are heading to Hawkins for the epic final season of Stranger Things. While the cast was busy fighting Vecna, the production crew was tackling a monster of their own: carbon emissions.

As one of Netflix's biggest productions, Stranger Things 5 leaned heavily into the studio's sustainability goals—utilizing clean energy grids, hybrid crew vehicles, and strict material recycling to keep the real world safe while saving the fictional one.

For Part 18 of our series, we’re stepping down the Yellow Brick Road to look at the first Wicked movie! Bringing the land of Oz to life required a massive production, but the crew made sure their environmental footprint didn't leave a dark cloud over the Emerald City.

From sustainable set construction using responsibly sourced timber to strict waste-diversion programs, this magical blockbuster proved that big-budget filmmaking can be green.
