I am now 32 years old and I was born with Moderate Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. I was born prematurely weighing only 1lbs 5oz and I was the smallest baby to ever survive at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. I want to teach children, young adults, and adults about CP how it has changed my life in a positive way but also teach them about the challenges of living a life with Cerebral Palsy

Desi’s Story

Hi my name is Desiree Andrea Mossakowski but I also go by Desi or Des. I am now 30 years old and I was born with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. I was born prematurely weighing only 1lbs 5oz and I was the smallest baby to ever survive at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. I want to teach children, young adults, and adults about CP, and how it has changed my life in a positive way but also teach them about the challenges of living a life with Cerebral Palsy.

I hope my family, friends, and acquaintances like my story and that they are able to get a better understanding of Cerebral Palsy. I hope my story inspires people and encourages them to reach for the stars and believe that they can do anything they put their mind to because having CP does not mean that you have limits and it doesn’t mean your different it just means that that you were born differently and people should not judge a person with CP because they already have to face dealing with this disability on a daily basis. It just means they want to be comforted, understood and heard so you shouldn’t be scared to talk to a person with CP because they have a voice as well and they need someone to listen comfort them and give them support because I as well as other people cannot go through this alone so if you see or meet someone with CP just simply say hi or ask them how they are doing?because they tend to get emotional more often than someone who doesn’t have a disability so please support support them and the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation because every donation counts and is very much appreciated.
