To the Class of 2026: You did it! Your hard work has officially paid off, and NSBE Professionals Los Angeles is here to celebrate your massive achievement.

Just like we did for the Class of 2025, we are thrilled to bring back our College Grad Membership initiative! As you transition from the classroom to the professional world, we want to make sure you have the network, resources, and community you need to thrive, completely on us for your first year out!

As seen in the flyer, graduates of the Class of 2026 will receive their first year of membership entirely free.

To kick off our Board Spotlight Series, we are honoring a true trailblazer: our Global Exchange Director, Nirmala Mahadevan, PE ! 🌟

We created this role specifically for Nirmala because she does the real work. From constantly leading students on impactful water tours to expanding our global perspective on engineering, she has gone above and beyond to mentor the next generation. Earlier this month, some of our NSBE Los Angeles board members Tynesha Bonds, Asia Brown + Myles Williams stepped onto campus at NSBE CSU Long Beach to pour back into the next generation of engineers!

We joined forces with SHPE Professionals for an incredible panel discussion centered on navigating our engineering careers, dropping real advice, and sharing the unfiltered, authentic experiences that shaped our journeys.

Pulling up for collegiate chapters like NSBE CSULB is exactly what it’s all about—bridging the gap, offering mentorship, and keeping the pipeline strong.

Last week, NSBE Professionals Los Angeles was honored to attend an inaugural Black Legacy Gala hosted by one of our college chapters, . It was a powerful evening connecting founding members with the students leading the way today.

Highlights:

Panel Discussion: Our professional members, Jennifer Black + Asia Brown were on the panel. They shared insights on navigating the workplace and the importance of representation in engineering.

Award Recognition: A huge congratulations to our Co-Collegiate Director, Asia Brown , for receiving the Most Active Alumni Award! 🏆
