Gloria Steinem, feminist icon, trailblazing journalist, and unapologetic cat lady, has passed away at 92. 🐾💔

Steinem never had children and proudly embraced the label of a “childless cat lady”—a phrase that has taken on a life of its own in recent years. But her legacy was never defined by whether she had children. It was defined by the lives she changed, the barriers she broke, and her lifelong fight for a more just and compassionate world.

Today, we’re honoring a woman who showed us there is no single way to build a meaningful life—and yes, that cats can absolutely be part of it. 🐱❤️

Rest in power, Gloria. Your voice, your work, and your unapologetic spirit will live on. ✨

📢 Big news: we’re expanding our open hours!

Starting this week, we’re saying goodbye to Tuesday evenings — but don’t worry, we’re more than making up for it. 🎉

What’s changing:
❌ Tuesday 5–7 PM
❌ Saturday 2–5 PM

Our new hours:
🐾 Friday: 4–7 PM
🐾 Saturday: 11 AM–4 PM
🐾 Sunday: 11 AM–4 PM (NEW!)

That’s double the open hours to come visit, cuddle some cats, and find your new best friend! 🐱💜🐾

You might remember this handsome boy from last year, when he came to Stray Cat Alliance as a tiny kitten after being attacked by an animal. We helped him heal, grow, and discover just how much life has to offer—and now, at 1.5 years old, he’s ready for the best chapter yet: a forever home. 🥹

His foster paw-rents say he’s basically a dog in a cat’s body. He loves chasing toys, playing, cuddling, meeting new people, and—of course—belly rubs. His energy level? 🔋 100% at all times.

He’s incredibly social with people and would thrive with a family that can keep up with his playful personality. He’s also believed to do best as an only cat, where he can soak up all the attention and be the star of the show. ⭐️

This sweet boy has already overcome so much. Now he just needs someone to show him that his happy ending is forever. 🏡❤️

Meet Dolly 🐾💗 This tiny kitten was found abandoned yesterday, and in memory of the legendary Dolly Parton, who passed away yesterday, we knew exactly what to name her. 🥹✨

And it seems this little Dolly already has someone watching over her. Just one day after being rescued, she has a meet-and-greet scheduled with a potential adopter!

Here’s hoping this little girl is headed for a 9 to 5 filled with naps, treats, and lots of love—and a forever home to call her own. 💕🐱

RIP to the one and only Dolly Parton. 💔✨ An absolute icon whose talent, kindness, and generosity touched countless lives. Beyond the music, Dolly had a huge heart for animals, launching Doggy Parton and supporting Willa B. Farms Animal Rescue, where a portion of proceeds helped animals in need.

Thank you for leaving the world a little brighter, Dolly. Your legacy will live on in so many hearts—and paws. 🐾💖

Big news from Sacramento: AB 2010, the SNIP Act, is 30 days away from changing spay/neuter access across California. 🐾

The bill would remove outdated rules blocking high-volume spay/neuter clinics and open the door for mobile units to reach underserved communities — meaning more surgeries, fewer kittens born into an already overwhelmed system. It’s co-sponsored by the ASPCA, San Diego Humane Society, and SF SPCA, and it just passed the Assembly 74-0.

It’s sitting in the Senate now, with a deadline to pass by August 31 — so the next few weeks matter.
