Shabbat Tent is an oasis of chill based on Shabbat hospitality, mindfulness, and nourishment for the body and soul.
a space to connect spiritually and communally with other Jews at festivals.
a welcoming tent open to everyone regardless of religion or nationality.
a realization of the spirit and practice of Abraham and Sarah, founders of the Jewish People
The Shabbat Tent Story starts in 1999, at the Phish Millennial shows. Conceived as a one-off project, its success prompted organizers to create additional tents the following years. Under new LA-based leadership since 2009, Shabbat Tent is growing, organizing volunteers and running programs around the country.
The 2018 Festival Tour includes Sundance Shabbat Lounge during the Sundance Film Festival, Shabbat Dinner at SXSW, Shabbat Tentโs at Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, High Sierra, Rainbow Gathering and Curveball.
Past festivals include: Locknโ, Bonnaroo, Reggae on the River, Wakarusa, Groovephest, Langerado, SXSW, Beale Street, Woodstock, Mountain Jam, Peach, Gathering of the Vibes, Fare Thee Well, Kate Wolf.
