On Saturday, March 28th, OCOLA held its annual Oratorical Contest and Essay Contest Awards Presentation at the Optimist Youth Home in Highland Park. We had seven impressive oratorical contestants, and the judges found it difficult to select the winners. Our top two participants will now advance to the Zone/Area contest. Success at that level provides an opportunity to compete in the District Finals for a $2,500 scholarship. We also presented awards to our three Essay Contest winners during the event.

🎄✨ Los Angeles Optimist Club Holiday Luncheon ✨🎄

What a wonderful way to celebrate the season! On Sunday, December 21st, the Los Angeles Optimist Club gathered for our Annual Christmas Holiday Luncheon at the beautiful Bahar Restaurant in Mission Viejo.

The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance elegant, and the holiday spirit was everywhere 🎶🎄. We were treated to joyful seasonal songs and music, adding the perfect touch of festive cheer.

A special highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of the prestigious President’s Citation by President Vernon Price to three outstanding members — Gloria Ing, Desmond Thompson, and Jim Carroll — in recognition of their exceptional contributions and dedication to the club 👏🏆.

Between great company, holiday festivities, and heartfelt celebrations, a good time was truly had by all.
