Learn more at artsforla.org. Arts for LA helps communities throughout Los Angeles County advocate for greater investment in the arts. Our mission is to foster a healthy environment in which arts and culture in the region may thrive and be accessible to all in Los Angeles. To achieve this important goal, Arts for LA:

* Advocates for increased support for artists and arts organizations

* Assists local school communities in developing and supporting arts education plans
* Fosters dialogue among policy makers, elected officials, and the public about important issues that affect the arts in their local communities and across the region
* Provides individuals with clear and direct ways to support the arts
* Connects a diversity of arts stakeholders into a network of informed and mobilized arts advocates

In each of these activities, we partner with artists, arts organizations, parents, neighborhood groups, elected/appointed officials, school districts, the business community and other stakeholders to educate the public about the important role the arts play in Los Angeles. Arts for LA, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, was incorporated in 2006 by a group of arts leaders who had, for years, been meeting informally to discuss and address the region’s most pressing arts issues. Since that time, Arts for LA has expanded its reach and deepened its roots in neighborhoods and school districts across Los Angeles County. Today, Arts for LA includes 20,000 subscribers, 240 members, 7 advocacy teams and 4 full-time staff members.

🥁 We're excited to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors: Leticia Rhi Buckley and Jeff Harris!

🌟 Leticia is a civic strategist and executive leader with over two decades advancing public sector and community initiatives across Los Angeles County. A lifelong Angeleno and daughter of Mexican immigrants, she brings a grounded, systems aware perspective to regional stewardship. She strengthens institutions through transition, aligns diverse stakeholders, and navigates political complexity with clarity and integrity. Her leadership shapes major civic efforts and extends through service on high level boards and advisory groups across the region.

🌟 Jeff is a distinguished executive, strategist, and board leader dedicated to expanding equity, arts education, and civic engagement. He possesses a powerful legacy of board governance, serving on the Board of Directors for Food Forward, Represent Justice and formerly on the Golden Globe Foundation, where he championed diverse storytelling, film preservation, and global free speech protections. Jeff's foundational commitment to leadership development stems from a 25-year legacy with The Junior State of America Foundation, where he rose from a high school student leader to Chief Executive Officer, pioneering initiatives that expanded civic education to low-income and underrepresented communities nationwide.

We are honored and grateful to have Leticia and Jeff join Arts for LA's Board of Directors!

Arts For LA kicked off the summer season with The Music Center's ¡Dale! Fútbol Watch Party. Friends, family and neighbors came to catch Spain vs. Uruguay on the big screen in Jerry Moss Plaza in Downtown L.A. The community enjoyed an evening of art making and soccer-inspired fun, and so did we!

During the match, Arts For LA offered an interactive activity of custom flag making alongside other partners whose activities included refashioning jerseys, masks, and a photo booth. This event was a co-creation of The Music Center's Partner Network Initiative (PNI) which convenes a collective of arts and culture leaders, organizers and artists who collaborate as a learning community, mutual support network and co-creator of programming. Arts for LA is a proud member of PNI!

In May, Arts for LA's Creative Jobs Collective (CJC) Strategist, Joanna Reynolds, represented in Sacramento to participate in a public hearing presenting "California's Future is Creative" to the California Joint Committee on the Arts led by Committee Chair, Senator Ben Allen.

We shared how we are implementing the statewide Creative Economy Strategic Plan locally in LA County through our CJC and advocacy work.

We joined the California Arts Council and other regional partners and contractors to address the strategic planning process, creative initiatives promoting resiliency at the local level, and next steps for the plan and implementation.
