Komen Upstate New York was established in early 2017, when four longstanding Komen affiliates in New York State joined forces to increase their local impact on the fight against breast cancer. The organization funds breast health and breast cancer screening, support, and survivorship programs in the communities they serve across Upstate New York. These life-saving local programs focus on assisting
under-served populations. In addition, 25% of all net proceeds go toward cutting-edge breast cancer research through Komen National Research Grants. Our Local Presence: Komen Upstate NY has offices in 4 Upstate locations in order to serve our communities personally, and with attention to the unique needs of each region of the state. The service area covers 49 counties, including 3 in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Komen Upstate New York is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the local communities it serves. Through events like the Race for the Cure®, Komen has invested a total of over $13 million in community breast health programs covering the 49-county Upstate New York region, and has helped contribute to the more than $920 million invested globally in research.
