Today, MPJI is proud to uplift W.A.V.E Women Inc., founded and led by Javannah J. Davis in Rochester, New York.

W.A.V.E stands for Wellness, Advocacy, Visibility, and Empowerment. Their work creates affirming space, resources, mutual aid, support, and community power for Black and Brown Transgender and gender nonconforming people.

JAcross the country, Black TRANS leaders are doing the work in real time. They are building safety. They are filling gaps. They are showing up when our people need care the most.

This is what your support makes possible.

Through the PAY IT campaign, MPJI is asking our community to give, share, and invest so we can continue standing beside organizations like W.A.V.E and leaders like Javannah.

When you PAY IT, you help MPJI move resources, relationships, and support directly to Black and Brown TRANS communities across the country.

There is no community without unity.

Today, MPJI is proud to highlight the work of Awakening Love, led by Love Latonia.

Awakening Love is doing the kind of work our people need most. Building care. Creating access. Holding community. Making sure Black TRANS people in Mississippi are not left without support, safety, or possibility.

This is why your support matters.

Without your generosity and continued investment, Awakening Love and organizations like them would not have the same access to MPJI’s support, resources, relationships, and direct pathways to change.

When you give to MPJI, you help us reach across the country and stand beside Black TRANS leaders who are building life saving work in real time.

Your support becomes care.
Your support becomes change.

Standing with is a reminder of what is possible when our community invests in its own future.

Marsha P. Johnson’s legacy lives on through action. Through organizing. Through mutual aid. Through ensuring that Black and Brown TRANS people not only survive, but thrive.

That is why the Marsha P. Johnson Institute is raising $1 million through the campaign.

Not for headlines. Because our movement depends on it.

Every dollar helps build the infrastructure our communities need to fight back against attacks on our rights, support Black and Brown TRANS leadership, create pathways to safety and wellness, and continue the work our ancestors began.

Pride is about investing in the future of our people every single day.

Join us. Stand with us. Invest in Black TRANS futures.

PAY IT FORWARD. PAY IT BACK. PAY IT TO THE PEOPLE.

Donate. Share. Organize. Help us reach $1 million.

This is what MPJI has been making possible.

The MILLON DOLLAR PAY It campaign is new, but the Marsha P. Johnson Institute’s support for Black and Brown Transgender leaders, organizers, artists, and community-rooted programs is not.

Ripple Hauxs is one example of that ongoing impact.

In Central Florida, Ripple Hauxs is building safety, wellness, leadership pathways, creative programming, and community refuge for BIPOC TRANS folx who deserve so much more than survival. In times where most of us feel pressured: We deserve joy, protection, leadership, and futures that are fully resourced.

When MPJI learned about the vision and intention behind the programming at , they stepped in with support that helped strengthen the health and safety of our people.

PAY It is how MPJI is asking community to help sustain this movement.

When you support PAY It, you are helping continue the work that has already been reaching Black and Brown TRANS folx across the country. You are supporting leaders like Stxph, programs like Ripple Hauxs, and the future of BIPOC TRANS community care.

Support PAY It. Sustain the movement. Invest in Black and Brown TRANS futures.

PRIDE STARTED WITH OUR PEOPLE. PEOPLE LIKE MARSHA P. JOHNSON.

Whether a brick was thrown or not, the truth remains: the legacy, leadership, and resistance at the forefront of Pride has always included Black and brownTRANS lives.

As MPJI moves across the country all Pride long and beyond June, we carry the name, legacy, and revolutionary spirit of Marsha P. Johnson with us.

Pride did not begin as a brand.
Pride did not begin as a marketing campaign.
Pride began with resistance, survival, and people who refused to disappear.

Black TRANS people, street queens, organizers, s*x workers, poor people, and community members helped shape the movement we now call Pride. Our lives, our labor, and our leadership have always been central.

As we search for connection, Pride Corps consultants, and the next MOJ ambassadors, we are asking our communities to remember where this movement comes from and who continues to carry it forward.

To honor Marsha is to protect Black TRANS life.
To honor Marsha is to invest in our people.

UNITY.

On August 1, 2025, Awakening Love Mississippi opened the very first Trans led drop in center in Jackson, Mississippi. This is what love in action looks like. This is what it means to build care, safety, and resources for our people where they are needed most.

MPJI is proud to have played a role in supporting this historic moment and the powerful work Awakening Love Mississippi continues to lead.

Love Latonia reminded us that our work reaches far beyond one city. When we invest in Black TRANS leadership, we invest in survival, possibility, and futures our people deserve.

This is also a call to action.

Your donations and recurring support help MPJI continue to reach across the United States and support Black TRANS leaders, organizations, and communities doing life saving work.

To Love Latonia and Awakening Love Mississippi, we see you, we hear you, we adore you, we support you, and we love you right back.

There is no community without unity.

Today, MPJI honors The and the powerful work we are able to do together.

Our partnership is a reminder that Black and Brown TRANS liberation is connected. When we reach across culture, build trust, and fortify bonds, we create more safety, more care, and more power for our people.

We know division has caused real harm in our communities. We also know that repair begins when we choose to keep reaching for each other with honesty, intention, and love.

The TransLatin@ Coalition continues to show what it means to serve, advocate, and build for Trans Latine communities with dignity and purpose. MPJI is proud to stand alongside them in the ongoing work of unity and liberation.

There is no community without unity.

BOSTON, THANK YOU.

MPJI showed up in Boston with purpose and UNITY at the center.

We carried the legacy of Black TRANS resistance into every room, every conversation, and every moment of connection. Boston reminded us why this work matters and why our people deserve to be seen, protected, resourced, and honored everywhere we go.

Now, our next stop is LOS ANGELES.

MPJI is looking for Pride Corps consultants in Los Angeles and surrounding areas who are committed to UNITY, Black and Brown TRANS liberation, and the work of moving our communities forward.

Pride Corps is a paid consultancy opportunity for Black TRANS leaders ready to bring their voice, vision, lived expertise, and community commitment into this moment.

Los Angeles, are you ready?
