In the Bay Area of California for this weekend’s Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo’s 40th Anniversary Celebration tour. Always blessed to see family and friends in this area.

Prior to yesterday’s show we provided two community workshops; one for our collaboration with the USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service introducing young people to career opportunities in agriculture and the other our partnership with the Anti-Violence Ventures taking a pro-active approach to mitigating violence in communities and introducing young people to emotional intelligence.

So proud of our BPIR Youth Ambassadors for their assistance!

Reflections from Ronnie - Today marks what would have been my beloved son Ryan's 40th birthday. It's been nearly 17 years since he left this earth, yet the gratitude I hold for the 23 years he blessed my life with his presence remains undiminished. On this poignant day, my heart aches and reaches out to all who share this indescribable journey of loss. Though our beloved children are no longer with us physically, our love for them endures unwavering and constant.

In moments like these, I am deeply thankful for the comfort and strength that faith provides. I pray that God's love wraps around each of us who bear this grief, offering solace in our shared memories and the pain of our loss. Many of us would willingly take our children’s place if given the choice, but such decisions are not ours to make. Instead, we continue forward, carrying a void within us that defies words.

Today, as I reflect on Ryan's life and legacy, I am reminded of how precious each moment is and how deeply he is missed and loved. May we all find peace knowing that our love connects us beyond time and space.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Ryan! Love you forever!!!

Reflections from Ronnie - A Blessed Good Friday! On this Good Friday, let us come together with hearts filled with gratitude and reverence for the immeasurable love and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, we remember the supreme price He willingly paid for our salvation, bearing the weight of our sins upon the cross. Through His selfless act of love, He conquered death and offered us the precious gift of eternal life.

As we reflect on this solemn day, may we be filled with a deep sense of thankfulness for the grace and mercy that flows from the cross. Let us take a moment to pause and appreciate the magnitude of Jesus' sacrifice, for it is through His wounds that we are healed and through His death that we are given new life.

May the power of Christ's love and the hope of His resurrection fill our hearts with peace, joy, and a renewed commitment to living a life that honors His incredible sacrifice. Let us express our gratitude by extending love, compassion, and forgiveness to those around us, just as He has freely given us.

Reflections from Ronnie - Isn't it odd that we seem to learn so much more from our mistakes than our successes? George Clooney's quote offers a great insight - that the fertile ground for growth lies not in our successes but in wrestling with failures and mistakes. There is profound truth in this, as resilience blooms not from easy times when all flows smoothly but rather in those jagged places where we pick ourselves up again.
Our most powerful lessons take form when piecing back together life's broken places; the pieces of dreams deferred, relationships severed, vocational aspirations crushed. For in the fractured territory of disappointment and shortcomings, we discover inner fortitude. We confront the reality that we are limited yet not defined by limitations alone. With courage and self-compassion, we can yet create beauty from even our failures' ashes.
Mistakes made by others likewise school us in developing empathy and shedding judgment’s arrogance. Standing in another’s shoes expands our wisdom as we realize how easily we could have made similar poor choices when faced with difficult circumstances. And if we let it, observing others’ errors can motivate us towards renewed integrity rather than smugness.
Truly, the terrain of failure claimed and reclaimed holds the ingredients for resilience forged. In brokenness, we encounter our insufficiency and humanity. Yet there, too, we can uncover grace once we lay down prideful pretenses. Only when standing transparent with all our fragility exposed can we discover the inner mettle to keep taking bold risks, the perseverance to remain steadfast in purpose, and the compassion to encourage fellow sojourners to also learn through life's pitfalls. This is the bedrock making resilience possible.

Reflections from Ronnie - These profound words touch the depths of our hearts. Loving the unlovable, forgiving the unpardonable—these are monumental challenges that require a strength beyond ourselves. In the realm of Emotional Intelligence from a Biblical perspective, it's a reminder of the radical love and forgiveness we find in the teachings of Jesus. When we apply these principles, we tap into a wellspring of divine grace, allowing us to love and forgive even in the most trying circumstances. It's an emotional journey that transforms us, enabling us to see the beauty within the broken, find hope in despair, and cultivate faith in the midst of the unbelievable.

Chesterton's words resonate as a beacon of hope in a world filled with darkness. To believe in the unbelievable and hope when everything seems hopeless is a testament to the power of faith. In a Biblical perspective of Emotional Intelligence, this speaks to an unwavering trust in God's promises, even when circumstances appear dire. It's an emotional anchor that keeps us steady through life's storms. It reminds us that when we encounter the seemingly impossible, we can draw strength from a faith that defies reason and a hope that transcends despair, illuminating our path with a radiant light of possibilities.

I would like to know your thoughts on these reflections. Please comment if they resonate with in any relationship or circumstance you are currently struggling with.

Reflections from Ronnie - This beautiful quote, from the perspective of relationships and interactions with others, reminds us that life is a dance of empathy and reciprocity. It whispers secrets about the interconnectedness of our journeys, suggesting that the kindness we extend outwards will somehow circle back to embrace us when we stand at the crossroads of vulnerability.

It's not just about how we treat others, but about how we weave ourselves into the fabric of humanity. Each act of kindness, each tender touch, each word of understanding becomes a stitch, binding us to others and, in turn, binding us to ourselves. For we are all, inevitably, the young, the aged, the striving, the weak, and the strong, and in the grand tapestry of life, every thread we mend strengthens the whole.

Reflections from Ronnie - Carlin's quote offers a profound truth about the meaning we derive from relationships in our lives. It's not about the quantity of time spent, but about those qualitatively special moments that connect us deeply to one another.
When we share our vulnerability, laugh until we cry, comfort in times of grief, or simply sit in stillness taking in a sunset – these breathless moments affirm our humanity. They remind us we are not alone. They weave the fabric of intimacy that sustains us through life's challenges.
We should wisely invest in and appreciate those shared moments that remind us vividly of why we are here at all. Our true purpose is to participate in this collective human experience, to bear witness to one another’s lives. The most breathless moments are when we are startled into presence, when we lose ourselves in the grace of togetherness, however fleeting. This is the stuff of life itself.
Please share your thoughts on this quote and my reflections, I would love to hear them. Thanks!

Reflections from Ronnie - in the quote below, Chaplin touches on a profound truth - in modern life we are often disconnected from our emotions and humanity as we sometimes get caught up in overthinking. His prophetic words are a call to cultivate more empathy, compassion, and emotional capacity.

This quote further suggests we supplement and balance rationality with emotional awareness. Over-reliance on cold logic substantially restricts our ability to understand others and make heartfelt human connections.

I believe this quote is timeless, as humanity has always struggled to balance the head and the heart. But in the modern digital age, it resonates even more. Technology offers us clever shortcuts, but it can also lead us to feel isolated and engage less directly with each other.

Please share your thoughts on these reflections. Thanks!

Reflections from Ronnie - I'm pretty sure you've heard the expression, we are all a bundle of wavering emotions. Acknowledging that people are driven by their emotions, prejudices, and desires can help us approach interactions with empathy and understanding. It encourages us to listen actively, validate feelings, and find common ground even when faced with differing viewpoints. By doing so, we can build bridges of connection and foster more meaningful relationships.

In the journey of generational collaboration, this awareness becomes even more crucial. When working with young people, understanding their emotional landscape can help us guide and support them effectively. Likewise, when connecting with older generations, recognizing their life experiences and emotions can lead to more productive conversations.

Are you aware of the impact feelings and emotions play in you life. Please comment, as I would love to hear from you on this topic.

Reflections from Ronnie - I love this quote from Ann Spangler's "Praying the Names of Jesus."

"You can’t, fill a bucket with fine-cut diamonds if it is already packed to the brim with potting soil."

Here's my take on this, the bucket represents our hearts and minds. The potting soil depicts things that fill our lives but don't truly nourish us - material possessions, status, money, power. These "soils" of the world may bring temporary happiness but leave us ultimately unfulfilled.

In contrast, the bucket could be filled with "fine-cut diamonds" - things that are precious, beautiful and enduring. This metaphor points to the blessings and fruits of a close relationship with God: love, joy, peace, purpose. But first, we need to empty out the clutter and distractions of the worldly "potting soil" we cling to.

The quote suggests that we need to create space in our busy lives. Making room for quiet prayer, scripture reading, and attending to our spiritual needs allows God's light to enter into our hearts. As we open ourselves up to receive God's love, the diamonds then fill up our lives - the precious gems of wisdom, meaning, divine gifts and guidance we long for deep down.

Please share your thoughts and insights on this quote and my reflections. During 2024 are there things in your bucket that should be removed to make room for God's blessings?
