It's that time again! 🌴 Join LAMDL for our annual Summer Debate Camp at USC, July 28-August 1, 2026. Register by June 10, 2026 to be considered for priority entry and lab assignment. Tomorrow at USC LAMDL will be showcasing some of our best debaters in the league in a public debate, along with a Novice and JV tournament. We have a limited amount of free tickets available for UDL Alumni, please reach out to staff via email or Discord to RSVP!

LAMDL's last tournament is May 16 at USC, we hope to see you there for our annual Public Debate and benefit! Tickets purchased for this event go towards providing our students with enriching debate activities throughout the year, including our Summer Debate Camp. As with other years, there are limited free tickets for our and other UDL Alumni, sign up via our website (lamdl.org/RESOLUTION) or email [email protected] for more info.

Congratulations to all of our new City Champions from (novice) and (JV, Varsity)! Harbor Teacher Prep Academy joins Crenshaw High School and Downtown Magnets High School as the only schools in LAMDL history to have won City Champs three times! All three schools can also claim the title of Back to Back Champs now too.

Join us this weekend for LAMDL's last full tournament of the semester, our City Championships! This tournament showcases some of our most competitive debaters, which team will come out on top for the 2025-26 school year?

We have multiple contenders from across the greater Los Angeles area, several of whom qualified to and competed at the TOC and 's UDNC recently.

Judging at this tournament is easier than ever-- you can do it from home! All debates and judging commitments for this tournament will be handled online via Zoom and Tabroom. Sign up via our Linktree or reach out to [email protected].

Join us next weekend at Cal State Northridge for our annual CITY CHAMPS Tournament! Who will be the next LAMDL City Champs?

Varsity judges should sign up via Linktree/bio and reach out to [email protected] to verify attendance. There will be the opportunity for virtual varsity (only) judges! Also, alumni that drive other alumni to the tournament will receive a cash carpool incentive per judge they bring to the tournament. 💸

Shoutout to Joey and San Pedro High School Debate Team for hosting a super fun egg hunt during the tournament!

We are closely monitoring the LAUSD strike and we are in solidarity with all of the teachers and administrators who serve our students and community. In the event that the strike has not been resolved by close of business on Wednesday, April 15th – we will move the tournament ONLINE after the strike concludes.

What's next for LAMDL? Our Spring Classic, hosted by our friends at / next Saturday, March 28! We need judges and volunteers, so be sure to sign up via the link on our Linktree. This is a one day tournament, we hope you'll stop by to support your local UDL!

Merch Raffle winners will be announced on Monday, and merch will be given out at T7, April 17-18, 2026 (City Champs).

Welcome to a new semester with LAMDL! Our Spring Opener tournament will be hosted by our friends at / this weekend. January 30-31, 2026. Volunteering at debate tournaments is an amazing way to stay engaged and active in your community, and your donation of your time and feedback can help set our students up for success. We hope you'll join us!

This Spring we have plenty of tournaments to compete and volunteer at, join us! Tournaments 4-6 have sign up sheets available on our Linktree (bio).

🎓 Alumni: Alumni that bring another LAMDL or UDL Alumni to tournaments to judge (Saturdays in particular) will be eligible to receive this year's LAMDL Debate sweater (see Giving Tuesday post for merch pics). Please reach out to [email protected] to formally enter.
