Our Vision

The Community is empowered to address evolving challenges and practices community solidarity. Proyecto Pastoral serves as a model for similar communities of empowerment and community participation in self and social transformation. Our History

Proyecto Pastoral at Dolores Mission was founded in 1986 by community residents and the California Province of Jesuits. Proyecto Pastoral is committed to involving local community members in the planning, design and implementation of its programs. One third of the Proyecto Pastoral Board of Directors is comprised by local community residents responding to community identified needs enabling Proyecto Pastoral to make a significant impact in the lives of local families. Anticipating the needs of the community enables Proyecto Pastoral in being an ever evolving organization that whose success lies not only in being dynamic but understanding the real issues. Proyecto Pastoral serves over 7,000 children, youth and families annually through its five programs.

⚽ Kickball for a Cause! Join us on Sunday, June 28, for the Mauricio Fascio Kickball Tournament benefiting Proyecto Pastoral's Community Support Fund. Gather your friends, family, or coworkers and register a team for a day of fun and friendly competition.

Team registration is $100 per team, with 9–12 players per roster. To register, email your team name and player roster to [email protected]. Admission is free, and there will also be a raffle featuring signed LAFC merchandise and other exciting prizes.

Únete a nosotros el domingo 28 de junio en el Torneo de Kickball Mauricio Fascio, cuyos beneficios se destinarán al Fondo de Apoyo a la Comunidad del Proyecto Pastoral. Reúne a tus amigos, familiares o compañeros de trabajo e inscribe a tu equipo para disfrutar de un día de diversión y competición amistosa.

La inscripción cuesta 100 dólares por equipo, con una plantilla de entre 9 y 12 jugadores. ⚽🎉 Boyle Heights is coming together for a World Cup Block Party tomorrow! Join the community on Thursday, June 18, from 5:00–10:00 PM on 1st Street between Vicente Fernandez and State Streets to watch the Mexico vs. South Korea match on a large LED screen, support local businesses, and celebrate the excitement of the World Cup right here in Boyle Heights.

This free, family-friendly event will feature community activities, local vendors, and a festive atmosphere throughout the 1st Street corridor. We hope to see you there!

☀️📚 Looking for something to do this summer while school is out? The Benjamin Franklin Library Pop-Up is open every Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Boyle Heights City Hall (2130 E. 1st St.) while the library undergoes construction.

Youth can browse books, sign up for a library card, participate in library programs, access e-books, and discover free resources to stay engaged all summer long.🌞✨
