Visiting Mr. Green is a 1997 play by Jeff Baron about an unlikely friendship that develops between a cranky, prejudiced Jewish widower, Mr. Green, and the young, gay corporate executive Ross Gardiner, who is sentenced to community service for almost hitting Mr. Green with his car. Over six months of required visits, the men, initially hostile to each other, begin to open up about their pasts, their family secrets, and their differing religious and cultural backgrounds, ultimately creating a bond that offers both hope and healing.

At Crosby College, a small liberal arts college, two student clubs strive for connection and comfort in difficult times. When a tragedy occurs in the local Jewish community, members of the Havurah Club are left reeling. The Christian Social Justice Club wants to help, but struggles to know how. Deeply relevant and strikingly realistic, Havurah depicts the complexities and possibilities of connecting with others in times of grief.

Rose Colored Glass

Set in 1938 Chicago, Rose Colored Glass takes place in the back rooms of Lady O'Riley's pub and Rose Fleishman's delicatessen. Their disparate worlds, separated by much more than the alley between their kitchens, are about to collide. Peg O'Riley, the 13-year-old grand- daughter of Lady, has grown determined that these two mistrustful widows will become friends. In a series of stunning flashbacks, Peg, now older, remembers the moving story of how Lady and Rose formed a united front to fight American apathy in an attempt to bring Rose's nephew out of Europe before the war.
