Dark Horse Theater

Dark Horse Theater DHT is a theater company that desires to produce original, compelling, uplifting work by undiscovered artists.

Jon Christie began producing theater in the summer of 2010, producing his own original work. Since that time he has written and produced a wide variety of full length plays ranging from dramatic to comedic to satirical, producing them in venues such as Bath House Cultural Center and Addison Theatre Center (both located in Dallas.) Christie also participated in the 2011 Festival of Independent Thea

tres at the Bath House. Up until February 2012, all of Christie's plays had been produced under a different production name - Triple J Productions. With Dark Horse Theater, Christie intends to expand and include more writers and artists of every type. DHT's first production was Hairy Alligator: An Evening of Short Plays performed at Nouveau 47 Theatre in Fair Park of Dallas in May 2012. The six short plays were written by local Dallas writers David Bernard Houck and Christopher Soden. Christie is very excited about the path DHT is on and is looking forward to many more fresh and new projects in the future!

Before the ball drops on our inaugural Fringe run, there's one more character to complete our countdown. Introducing Eve - professional party planner and one of the New Year's twins!

Eve has but one desire - throw the most brilliant, extravagant party of the year. And she goes out of her way (and out of her mind) to ensure all of her party guests have the time of their lives. Sure she can get carried away, and some people might feel put off by her overwhelming hospitality, but clearly she has no full-on enemies. Who could possibly want her dead? ...well...

Dave has played second fiddle to his sister Eve since birth - literal birth, when she pulled Dave back into the womb to become New Year's Eve. And ever since, Dave has lived in her shadow. Despite being ridiculed by his peers and feeling slighted by his sister, all Dave wants is recognition, appreciation, and validation...but are revenge and murder also on his to-do list?

A holiday celebrity with a diva complex, Chris is adamant about celebrating Christmas as long as she can. But every New Year's Eve her reign must come to an end. Despite having an entire month to herself, she is not satisfied. She doesn't want her time in the spotlight to end...could murder be the answer to her problems?

I hope you're wearing green! Or else 's next murder suspect might make you his next target! Meet Pat, the resident irritable Irishman!

Whether he's partying up a storm or wallowing in bitter resentment, one thing is constant - he's always drunk off his ass! And common sense dictates that grudges and alcohol don't mix. But obviously Pat's all talk and no action. He wouldn't actually kill his party rival...would he?

Let us give thanks for today's new character reveal - the ever-grateful Autumn!

She could give thanks morning, noon, and night and be happier than a turkey on Easter! Too bad she has no time because her Christmas counterpart monopolizes her life. So she will just have to count her blessings despite being taken advantage of. It's not like she can do anything about it...or can she?

Our next character reveal is no joke, but he loves to tell them! Meet Puck, the group's precocious little prankster!

This jokester never grows weary of the classics - whoopie cushions, hand buzzers, and fake p**p are just a few of his personal favs! But his peers are sick of the same old lame schtick. Puck may seem carefree on the surface, but deep down all he wants is respect. The question is: how far is he willing to go to get it?

Next up on 's usual suspects is the spooky spitfire Hally!

She may think she's the scariest thing since the loch ness monster, but she tends to prefer slutty skirts to fearsome fangs. In fact she couldn't be sweeter. Clearly she is incapable of committing a gruesome murder...right?

With only two weeks left before returns for the , let's reconnect with our holiday suspects!

First up - Val! The hopeless holiday hearthrob!

These days Val can't stand the sight of heart-shaped boxes or kissing couples, probably because the holiday of love is hopelessly single. Every year he laments about being alone and prays he'll never have to celebrate the season of love again. Too bad there's nothing he can do to keep V-Day from coming...or is there?
