☀️ Wellness Wednesday: Keeping Kids Engaged This Summer ☀️

With school out for the summer, it's important to help children stay active, connected, and engaged in ways that support both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Simple activities can make a big difference:
📚 Encourage daily reading
🎨 Explore arts and crafts
⚽ Participate in sports or outdoor play
🧩 Enjoy puzzles and educational games
🌳 Visit parks, libraries, and community events
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Make time for family activities and conversation

Summer is a wonderful opportunity for children to discover new interests, strengthen social connections, and build healthy habits.

At Kedren, we believe wellness starts early, and supporting children's emotional and physical health helps build stronger families and communities.

What are your favorite ways to keep kids engaged during the summer?

June is PTSD Awareness Month — a time to recognize the lasting effects trauma can have on mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event and may affect a person's ability to feel safe, connected, or at peace. Symptoms can include anxiety, depression, difficulty sleeping, flashbacks, emotional distress, and challenges with daily functioning.

The good news is that recovery is possible.

By raising awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging people to seek support, we can help individuals and families find hope and healing.

At Kedren, we are committed to providing compassionate behavioral health services that support individuals on their journey toward wellness and recovery.

If you or a loved one are experiencing the effects of trauma, don't wait to seek help. Support is available.

⚽ The excitement continues as Team USA takes the field tomorrow in the World Cup!

Major sporting events remind us of the power of teamwork, perseverance, dedication, and community. They also inspire young people to stay active, build healthy habits, and pursue their goals both on and off the field.

As we cheer on the athletes representing our country, let's also celebrate the importance of physical activity, sportsmanship, and community connection.

Good luck, Team USA!

Tomorrow is Family Health & Fitness Day — a reminder that healthy habits are even more meaningful when families support one another together.

Physical activity, quality time, healthy meals, and open conversations can all contribute to stronger physical health, reduced stress, improved mental wellness, and deeper family connection.

Whether it’s taking a walk, playing outside, riding bikes, cooking together, or simply making time to unplug and connect, every small step toward wellness matters.

At Kedren, we believe healthy families are the foundation of healthy communities, and we remain committed to supporting whole-person wellness for individuals and families alike.

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness about the importance of brain health, mental wellness, and early support.

Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia affect not only memory, but also emotional wellbeing, relationships, caregivers, and overall quality of life. As we age, prioritizing brain health becomes an important part of caring for our whole health.

Staying mentally active, managing stress, maintaining social connections, getting quality sleep, and seeking support when concerns arise can all play a role in supporting long-term cognitive and emotional wellness.

At Kedren, we believe that mental health and brain health go hand in hand. Through compassionate care, behavioral health services, wellness resources, and community support, we remain committed to helping individuals and families navigate every stage of life with dignity and care.

If you or a loved one are experiencing memory concerns, changes in behavior, or emotional challenges, don’t wait to seek support.

🚹 June is Men’s Health Month — a reminder that health includes mental and emotional wellness too.

For many men, conversations about stress, anxiety, work, family, grief, and life don’t always begin in a doctor’s office. Sometimes they happen in the barbershop, on the golf course, at the cigar lounge, in the gym, or simply among trusted friends.

These spaces matter.

💪🏼They create opportunities for connection, honesty, support, and healing — especially in a world where many men still feel pressure to “tough it out” in silence.

This Men’s Health Month, let’s continue creating safe spaces where men feel seen, heard, supported, and encouraged to prioritize both physical and mental wellbeing.

Because checking in on your mental health is not weakness — it’s wellness.

Prioritize your health, call Kedren Health to learn how.

🧠 Wellness Wednesday

Sometimes exhaustion isn’t physical — it’s mental.

Constant notifications.
Stress.
Overthinking.
Trying to keep up with everything at once.

Mental clutter is real, and taking care of your wellness also means giving your mind space to rest.

Today’s challenge:
✨ Clear one thing off your mental plate.
Put the phone down for a few minutes.
Step outside.
Take a breath.
Say no to something that’s draining you.

Small resets matter.

At Kedren Community Health Center, we believe wellness starts with caring for both mind and body.
