To Those Who Served & Those Still Fighting Within. ๐Ÿ–ค

We honor the underrepresented soldiers who marched and sacrificed, often without the recognition they deserved. Their courage built this nation, and their stories deserve to be told.

We also honor the battles that don't make headlines: PTSD, trauma, sleepless nights, and the weight of experiences no one should carry alone.

Mental health struggles among veterans are real, they are valid, and they deserve the same attention as any physical wound.

You are not weak for needing support. You are human. Today and everday humans need humans. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿพ

This Memorial Day, let's commit to showing up for our veterans.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Boris L. Henson Foundation are reminding you that healing is not a luxury,ย  it's your birthright.

We come from communities that were told to "push through," "pray it away," or "keep it moving." But Taraji knows, and we know, that silence is not always strength.
Speaking up, seeking help, and showing up for yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do.

You are not alone. You never were.

Whether you're just starting your mental health journey or you've been walking it for years, we see you. We honor you. We're here with you every step of the way.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Drop a ๐Ÿ’šin the comments if you're committed to prioritizing your mental health this month โ€” and share this with someone who needs to hear it today.

The Challenge is in full effect and Prince Georgeโ€™s County students are SHOWING OUT. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

3 minutes. 30 days. Look what it's creating.

Every piece of art and reflection was made during a moment of stillness. This is what happens when we give ourselves permission to pause. ๐Ÿ’™

We are so proud of our students for showing up for themselves week after week. Swipe through and let their creativity inspire YOU to today.

Here's what our teachers had to say about our recent teacher training for the Challenge!

They came, they trained and are now implementing all the techniques they learned to teach their students how to introduce calm into their day.

With only 13 days left of , we encourage you to prioritize your mental health daily and join us in taking a minute for your mental health this month and beyond.ย

Humans Need Humans.๐Ÿ’š

We were not built to carry our mental health alone and yet, so many of us try to.

Connection is not a luxury. Joy is not a luxury. Peace of mind is not a luxury. It is our birthright.ย

You were never meant to do this alone. Neither was the person next to you. ๐Ÿ’ญ

A note from our founder:

As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to give a huge THANK YOU to the educators and counselors across Prince George's County schools who attended the Humans Need Humans Arts and Wellness Training last Saturday.

We ask so much of our students: to stay focused, push through, and perform. And the list goes on.

In reality, our students may be feeling overworked and stressed without knowing a way to cope and stay grounded.

Sometimes, dedicating just 3 intentional minutes to wellness is all it takes for a young person to come back to themselves. Which is why this challenge matters so deeply.

Because of their dedication to their students, these incredible humans are now equipped to bring daily wellness practices into their classrooms and counseling sessions, every single day for the next 30 days (and beyond)โ€ฆ
I couldn't be more grateful.

Thank you for being part of something that will make a difference for students walking the same halls I walked in District 8. That means everything to me.

This initiative is made possible in part through funding provided by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince Georgeโ€™s County, the Pull Up Fund ( ) and Distict 8 Council Member Ed Burroughs III ()

With Gratitude,

Taraji P. Henson

Protecting your peace is a practice โ€” and it looks different for everyone. ๐Ÿ’œ

We asked our community what protecting their peace looks like, and your answers reminded us why this work matters so much.
Setting boundaries. Saying no without guilt. Knowing your worth. Walking away. Breathing through it all.

Every single version of that is valid. Every single version matters.

Drop yours in the comments ๐Ÿ‘‡ What does protecting your peace look like?

Swipe through for a few phrases to keep in your back pocket whenever you need to set a boundaries, take up space, or simply honor where you are.ย

Save this one for when you need a reminder. ๐Ÿ’œ

Your environment can determine your health, and that's not talked about enough.

Living in food deserts with no access to fresh produce, working multiple jobs, navigating systemic pressure, and carrying stress with no outlet can lead to chronic stress, which raises cortisol levels and causes high blood pressure, silently damaging the heart, kidneys, and brain.

Protect your peace. It is not just a saying, it is survival.
