🚨 MORE BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Governor Gavin Newsom has signed AB 1806 and AB 1807 into law!

The new laws, authored by Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, hold federal immigration agents accountable and keep ICE off state property.

AB 1806 requires California to investigate fatal shootings by ICE or Border Patrol agents.

AB 1807 bans the use of state-owned property, including parking lots, for immigration raids and enforcement operations.

🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨Governor Gavin Newsom just signed AB 1633 by Assemblymember Matt Haney into law! No one should profit from tearing families apart.

This first-in-the-nation law puts a 25% tax on the income of corporations that run private ICE detention facilities, and the money goes to a new Due Process for All Fund supporting immigration services for California families.

"What we see in practice is that this leads to immigrants with the sponsor feeling intimidated, feeling unsure of whether to share that information when they are facing direct need," said Benyamin Chao, supervising policy manager for the California Immigrant Policy Center.

Gov. Gavin Newsom has vetoed legislation that would have changed how California determines financial eligibility for some immigrants receiving state-funded food assistance.
