Today we wanted to share an exciting upcoming event hosted by the student chapter SHPE CSUN! They are hosting a Dia de Ciencias event taking place on April 25th, 2026 at CSUN. They are inviting students ages 7-13 and their guardians to visit CSUN and participate in the event. This is a great event to get the younger generation interested in STEM with fun activities and workshops.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT TEAM OF SHPE-GSFV LEADERS!

Spring is a time when we’re reminded how much it matters to show care, presence, and support for the people and organizations that shape our community. At SHPE, that heart often starts with members who choose to be involved.

As we head into election season, the SHPE-GSFV executive board of directors (eBOD) is now accepting nominations for Internal Vice President, External Vice President and Secretary for the 2026-28 term.

Serving on the SHPE-GSFV eBOD is a meaningful way to give back to the community we serve, help strengthen the experiences we create for STEM professionals and students, and show our community and sponsors that the study and pursuit of STEM careers is worth our time and energy.

We are pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity specifically for students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Who Should Apply? We are looking for motivated students who meet the following criteria:

Current Enrollment: Attending a Junior College or a 4-year Institution.
Field of Study: Pursuing a degree in a STEM field.
Academic Standing: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Course Load: Enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Financial Need: Demonstrating a need for financial assistance.

Application Highlights As part of the application process, candidates will be asked to share their stories through two short essays focusing on resilience in STEM and the impact of their leadership and extracurricular involvement.

Deadline All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by May 5th, 2026.
