Unlike common bioplastics (greenwashing), materials that regenerate should be:

✅ 100% biobased, plastic-free, and nontoxic → made from renewable biomass sources like you see in the image, and not mixed with chemical additives or other plastic

✅ Not chemically modified → created through natural processes

✅ Marine Biodegradable → can break down in naturally marine environments without causing pollution from microplastic fragmentation

✅ Home Compostable → can break down in backyard composts through microbes without causing pollution from microplastic fragmentation

Which regenerative material would you like to see more of?

🚨 Research suggests that microplastics in the placenta may act as endocrine disruptors, affecting the hormone levels of a developing fetus in the placenta.

🤰 Pregnancy is already a period of increased vulnerability to environmental pollutants for both mother and fetus.

🙅‍♀️ Avoiding plastic whenever possible during pregnancy can help reduce exposure, and our Healthy Pregnancy Guide can help—but we also need systemic change to solve this crisis.

Join us in calling on legislators to take action now to unwrap our food from unnecessary and toxic plastic. 📣
