Our Mission is to promote the well-being of the underserved by providing access to high-quality healthcare for all, regardless of ability to pay. Have you heard about Prop 44? It's on California's ballot, and it could change how community health clinics like UMMA Health care for our patients.

Prop 44, called the "Clinic Funding Accountability Transparency Act," would:
• Cut $1.7 billion from community health clinics in the first year alone
• Push 88% of clinics statewide to operate at a loss
• Threaten care for nearly 7 million Californians who rely on community clinics
• Put politicians between patients and their doctors and nurses

Primary care, prenatal care, mental health and dental care are the services we provide every day, and the services Prop 44 puts at risk. That's why UMMA Health is urging a NO vote.

✨ Vermont Knolls, you made it SHINE! ✨

This past Saturday, UMMA Health joined the Office of Mayor Karen Bass Mayor Karen Bass) and community partners for the Shine LA Vermont Corridor Cleanup & Family Festival, kicking off Embracing Vermont, the first of many revitalization projects along the Vermont Corridor from Florence to Manchester. 💚

30 years ago today, an idea became UMMA Health. 🧡💚

In 1992, a group of Muslim medical students at UCLA asked what it would take to make sure every family in South LA could see a doctor. They had no building and no budget, just each other and a community that believed in them.

Today, that idea has grown into a Community Health Center with 9 locations serving 67 zip codes across South LA and San Bernardino County. This past year alone, we crossed 50,000 patient visits for the first time.

For over twenty years, Al-Shifa Clinic has been where San Bernardino families come when they need care. Phase One of its renovation is now complete.

Repainted exam rooms. A refreshed lobby. New signage throughout the clinic, with braille on every room placard. And a new Enrollment Services room — a private space to sit down with someone and sort out what coverage you qualify for and how to keep it.

None of it changes the care that happens inside those rooms. All of it changes how it feels to walk into them.

Phase Two is dental. Al-Shifa ran a volunteer dental clinic for years before joining UMMA Health. Bringing that care back to San Bernardino is what comes next. 🦷

Durante más de veinte años, la Clínica Al-Shifa ha sido el lugar donde las familias de San Bernardino reciben atención. La Fase Uno de su renovación ya está completa.

Salas de examen repintadas. Una recepción renovada. Nueva señalización en toda la clínica, con braille en cada letrero. Y una nueva oficina de Servicios de Inscripción — un espacio privado para sentarse con alguien y resolver a qué cobertura califica y cómo mantenerla.

Nada de esto cambia la atención que se brinda dentro de esas salas. Todo esto cambia cómo se siente entrar en ellas.

La Fase Dos es dental. Al-Shifa tuvo una clínica dental voluntaria durante años antes de unirse a UMMA Health. Traer ese servicio de vuelta a San Bernardino es lo que sigue. 🦷
