📣 BARGAINING UPDATE: Last night, hundreds of pharmacists, customers, allies, and union siblings came out to our candlelight vigil to support our fight for a fair contract and safe staffing protections to prevent further harm to our communities. After a huge turnout that demonstrated our power, our readiness for a ULP strike, and our support from customers and patients, we returned to the bargaining table today.

But instead of engaging in serious conversations about settling these negotiations, the company continued to waste our time at the bargaining table.

Albertsons and Ralphs are not living in reality if they think this proposal is anywhere near the wages, benefits, and staffing protections that we and our customers need, or that demonstrates the value we bring to their companies.

After last night’s Safer Staffing Vigil, more than ever we are ULP strike ready!

Grocery pharmacists, patients, and the community came together to send a strong message that safe staffing is essential.

Safe staffing protects everyone.

When pharmacies are properly staffed, it directly prevents mistakes and saves lives.

We are back at the bargaining table negotiating with the companies and we have carried that momentum from last night with us.

We won’t back down until we secure a safer future for everyone.

What an Incredible Turnout!

Our Safe Staffing Candlelight Vigil at Vons in Whittier was a powerful display of solidarity!

Grocery pharmacists, patients, and community supporters packed the parking lot to send an unmistakable message to Vons, Albertsons, Pavilions, and Ralphs that understaffing compromises patient safety and we are united to protect our community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, held a candle, and raised their voice.

We are taking this incredible energy and ULP Strike Ready momentum back to the bargaining table tomorrow.

We are stronger than ever and ready to secure the fair contract and safe staffing levels that our pharmacy teams and patients deserve.

Your Reminder to Unite Under the Light!

Join us this Sunday as grocery pharmacists, patients, and supporters unite for our Safe Staffing Candlelight Vigil.

As we prepare to return to the bargaining table, this is our moment to send an unmistakable message to Vons, Albertsons, Pavilions, and Ralphs that we are completely united around this issue.

Understaffing compromises patient safety and places an unfair burden on dedicated grocery pharmacists and staff. We are fully invested in protecting our community, exposing these risks, and securing the fair contract we deserve.

Grocery Staffing Enforcement Update

UFCW 770 President Kathy Finn has a crucial update on how our collective voice is delivering massive wins for grocery members.

Because of nearly 500 member reports and our unwavering contract enforcement, we have recovered over $522,000 for members in the past year and we aren’t stopping there.

This means wage recoveries, won grievances, and deserved promotions.

When we speak up, together we make an impact.

Watch the video to see how we win together!

Unrealistic quotas put worker safety at risk every day.

A UCLA study recently found some dangerous realities in the meatpacking, food processing and slaughterhouse industries.

In this KCRW radio news feature, our members speak out about the their working conditions.

One of the main complaints found was unrealistic quotas which lead to unsafe operating speeds in the industry.

Perla Rosales who works Quality Control at Overhill had this to say,
"It gets me kinda mad because if you go to the website it actually says 'fast-paced" and it's like they're proud that they're fast. They don't care that they're hurting the people by making it fast." - Perla Rosales, Quality Control at Overhill.

Thank you West Hollywood City council for taking the crucial first steps on a self-checkout ordinance.

We appreciate the council for taking the time to listen to our workers, customers and labor allies.

Prioritizing safe staffing levels at our West Hollywood grocery stores and retail shops is essential to ensuring protections for both workers and customers.
