The event covers a GradTrack overview, a panel of recruiters and professionals where you can vote on which questions they answer, and lastly a focus group session where you can get personal time with representatives from different industries! Our SHPEtinas Conference was a huge success!

We welcomed 165 students, 32 professionals, and 20 volunteers who came together to empower, support, and uplift Latinas in STEM. The event featured inspiring workshops, networking opportunities, and a career fair with 4 employer tables, helping attendees connect with industry professionals and explore career paths.

A special thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and planning committee—your dedication made this event possible! Thank you for providing a safe space for us. And of course, thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create a truly inspiring and supportive space.

In many cultures, the colibrí (hummingbird) symbolizes strength, determination, and the ability to travel great distances despite its size. Just like our SHPE familia, it moves with purpose—connecting & growing!

This year, our mixers across Region 1 follow the path of the colibrí, bringing together students and professionals to build community, make memories, and keep our momentum going. ✨

Hello 👋🏻 We listened and heard the needs of our graduate students in Region 1! So the Graduate Committee is very excited to let you know! 🎉

For our February Gradient Series, we will host an exclusive Career Panel featuring professionals from 3M, Siemens, and Lockheed! 🚀 These professionals will share their transition from graduate school (PhD and MS) into industry.

It’ll be a great panel to share tips and gain encouragement in this competitive job market and learn how to stand out! 💼✨
