Grateful for rest, learning and stillness practice during at parents home in East Lansing, Michigan -- Anishinabeg, Odawa and Ojibwe land. Been learning more about parents' and ancestral spiritual practices, language and food. We're planting veggies from seedlings shared amongst neighbors and enjoying seemingly simple, "small" things like the patterns of the birds chirping (this area used to be a bird sanctuary) and the frogs' evening bubble-throated croaking chorus in the marsh across the street. Also, a giant talking parrot lives next door! 🐸🦆🦜 Heartfelt gratitude to Mom (pic 1) for life, so much support and sharing in this prayer.
We are united with all those that (more details below), sending prayers and taking action to ensure their lands are preserved and far more attention, care and resources are brought to native lands, Black, poor, POC, LGBTQ and other communities that are disproportionally harmed by the virus.

Leave a 🔥 in the comments if you : 🌎🌎 On May 7th, a federal judge will hear the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s bid to preserve its land in trust May 7 via teleconference. In the middle of a pandemic, the Trump Administration has moved to disestablish their tribe and lands based on a ambiguous legal technicality. We have lit our sacred fires today, all across the country, as a way of saying we and reject this move to take away their lands. 🌎🌎 Common sense and simple morality should grant this tiny piece of land to the Mashpee Wampanoag, the same nation that saved the pilgrims when they were sick and starving. We of many races and creeds cannot allow this nonsense to go on any further without making some noise and standing to defend. 🔥🔥Sign the petition, light your candle/smudge/fire, and write your senators!
