CCA is committed to advancing housing production of all kinds during this crisis—because Los Angeles cannot build its way out of this shortage without urgency ⏳, data-driven policy ⚖️, and real alignment 🤝 across stakeholders. That means showing up with solutions that restore investor confidence and help get projects moving again.

Last week, CCA President and CEO Nella McOsker testified in Los Angeles City Council Chambers alongside the in support of a “Mend It, Don’t End It” approach — pushing for thoughtful reform that strengthens Measure ULA so it can better deliver on its original promise.

We need urgency, collaboration, and reforms that actually help produce housing at scale. Join our “Mend It, Don’t End It” coalition and help ensure L.A. gets this right. 💪

Adaptive reuse is scaling across Los Angeles, but more work is needed to turn potential into projects that actually get built. This is about unlocking housing in the places we already have—turning underused buildings into homes and bringing new life across our city. 🌆

CCA’s latest study shows that converting just 10 Downtown buildings could create nearly 🏡 3,900 homes, 💼 17,000 good-paying jobs, and more than 💰 $1 billion in wages—while also shifting an $84 billion projected loss in property value into a $12 billion gain.

With expanding adaptive reuse citywide, the opportunity is clear. But too many projects still don’t pencil under today’s regulations and financing conditions.

Our next phase of work is focused on identifying the real policy and design solutions needed to make projects financially viable—and move them from concept 💭 to construction 🏗️ faster.

DYK: DTLA is 1% of the City’s land, but powers roughly 30% of our essential tax revenue?

CCA President & CEO Nella McOsker joined .the.issues for a six-month check-in on Revive DTLA: our action plan to make Downtown LA safer, cleaner, and more vibrant for everyone.

We’re proud of the progress so far:

✅ Secured dedicated foot patrols to strengthen public safety
✅ Delivered funding from Sacramento for street medicine teams
✅ Helped unlock long-stalled projects like the Oceanwide “Graffiti” Towers
✅ Strengthened state and local enforcement against copper wire theft

There’s more work ahead, and we’re continuing to push for the investments DTLA deserves.
