Many congratulations to Araceli Hurst, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System — a 2026 My SoCal Hospital Hero! A social worker and an Army veteran herself, Ara’s strengthened her team, improved access to care and enhanced well-being for hundreds of veterans served by the GI clinic.

Her heart for veterans, precision and determination are summed up in the launch of a new GI Companion Program. As Ara led the very complex, time-sensitive project over several months, coordinating with multiple departments and vendors, it became a model of efficiency and accuracy. The program now fills a longstanding gap, providing patients safe transportation and a qualified companion after procedures needing sedation.

Thank you, Ara, for being a true healthcare hero!
