32years ago – World AIDS Day, designated on 1st day of December every year as an international day dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection and mourning those who have died of the disease.
World AIDS Day was the first ever international day for global health. Since 1988, each year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day, as people around the world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses.
More interestingly, every year, World Humanity Commission, USAID, European Union, United Nations agencies, Governments and civil society join together to campaign around specific themes related to HIV.
Each World AIDS Day focuses on a specific theme, and the UN declared this year to be "Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility." This year’s theme joins a growing list of challenges that World AIDS Day has alerted people to globally.
World Humanity Commission supports United Nations and its agencies with the WHC 2020 theme for the observance of World AIDS Day – “Ending the HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact”.
