Submissions due this week! 🎬 Calling young storytellers, filmmakers, and creative collaborators! The Teen Council is inviting Los Angeles teens ages 14–18 to create a short film centered on an issue in their community they feel passionate about or believe deserves attention.

Films may be documentary, narrative, animation, experimental, comedy, horror, or any genre that helps bring your vision to life. Selected films will be showcased at the Academy Museum on August 9.

✨ Submission deadline: June 17, 2026
✨ Open to groups of 2 or more teens
✨ Films must be 5 minutes or less

We encourage our young creative visionaries to explore this opportunity and continue using their voice, perspective, and creativity to tell stories that matter 💜

El Consejo Juvenil del invita a adolescentes de Los Ángeles (de 14 a 18 años) a crear un cortometraje centrado en algún tema de su comunidad que les apasione o que consideren que merece atención.

Las películas pueden ser de género documental, narrativo, animación, experimental, comedia, terror o cualquier otro que ayude a plasmar su visión. Las obras seleccionadas se proyectarán en el Academy Museum el 9 de agosto.

🥁🪘🛢 4C LAB was proud to partner with the leading bucket drumming workshops for creative visionaries of ALL AGES at the LA County Fair!

Led by 4C LAB teaching artist, Andrew Jaimez, participants learned that we can use simple objects to make music and build community! Thank you to the Eastside Arts Initiative for an amazing day of creativity!

At 4C LAB, we believe storytelling and creative expression are deeply connected to identity, belonging, and community care. When young people are given space to explore who they are through art, they begin to build confidence in their voice and connection to one another.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the artists, storytellers, and young visionaries who continue to create with honesty, courage, and joy.

Watching our creative visionaries become leaders in their community reminds us that this work has the power to grow exponentially.⚡ That each young person who finds a mentor and a place to explore their own story and creativity can grow up and become that mentor for someone else.

We are so thankful for the many amazing, talented professional teaching artists who have participated in our programs and inspired our students!
