The “I Have A Dream” Foundation – Los Angeles provides long-term support to youth living in under-resourced communities to empower them to fulfill their potential and achieve their dreams. We empower our students with our in-school, after-school, year-round, and long-term academic, social, emotional, and experiential support—all designed to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. We work wit

h them for 10+ years, from elementary school, through high school and college, along with guaranteed tuition and support for their post-secondary education. The sponsored youth (Dreamer Scholars) we serve, come from the economically-disadvantaged Los Angeles communities of Boyle Heights, Inglewood, and Watts. These are communities that suffer from particularly high school dropout rates. Due to the communities in which our students live, our students suffer from trauma three to four times more than their peers. Dreamer Scholars are not the only ones who benefit from the program; siblings, parents, other students in the school, and local community members also feel the positive impact of IHADLA's educational and enrichment offerings. We were honored to welcome Dreamer Scholar alumnus Rodolfo “Rudy” Diaz, founder of Hight Logistics, back as a Dream Speaker for our Program 20 students.

A graduate of Program 9 and member of the Class of 1997, Rudy shared his journey, the challenges he overcame, and the powerful role mentorship played in his success. His message reminded students that perseverance, strong relationships, and community support can create lasting opportunities.

This Memorial Day, we’re proud to highlight one of our Dreamer Scholars alumni, Brandon Rojas from Program 19, who recently came back to share his journey with our students! 🇺🇸

Now serving in the Marines and stationed at Camp Pendleton, Brandon spoke about discipline, growth, and the importance of giving back to the community that helped shape him. ❤️🤍💙 We’re grateful for his service and inspired by the example he continues to set for the next generation!
