National SHPE Cup Feb. 10: Regional Competition Begins
Feb. 23: Regional Competition Ends
March 3: National ChampionSHPE Begins
March 9: National ChampionSHPE Ends

How are winners of each round chosen? Regional Competition: Chapter from each region compete against each other. Points earned are 50% based off of membership increase and 50% based off of SHPE Pride events. 1. Membership Increase: get more students to join the SHPE community and make sure they register and pay on ONESHPE. 2. SHPE Pride: Post pictures on your respective Regional SHPE CUP page and

show us what your chapter is doing. Events must be categorized as one of the 5 pillars of SHPE. (See Picture Details & Categories below ). There are rounds each week and chapters with the least amount of points will be eliminated. On Feb 23 the regional competition ends and the winner in each region will be announced. Go to your respective Regional SHPE CUP for more details. National Competition: The Chapter with the most points during the Regional Round (Feb 10th - Feb 23rd) will move on the the National Round (March 3rd - March 9th)! Scoring is similar to the Regional Competition. REMEMBER the Important Dates:
Feb. 10: Regional Competition Begins
Feb. 23: Regional Competition Ends
March 3: National ChampionSHPE round begins (Only Regional Winners + Winner of Second place competition participate in this round )
March 9th: National Championship round ends a CHAMPION is CROWNED!! Bonus points for the Regional & National Competition:
1. An additional bonus point will be awarded if the students in the picture are tagged
2. As we are promoting the cooperation between graduate and undergraduate students. An additional 2 bonus points will be awarded if the picture show this collaboration. (Please tag the students to proof academic class standing). This will not count for bonus number 1.
3. An additional 3 bonus points will be awarded to the chapter that submits a video of a certain activity. The number of bonus points given will be subject to the scoring team. Picture Proof Details (Rules for Regional & National Competition)
Picture proof is required to score the participation points for the daily activity of SHPE CUP. Pictures may be group photos and/or several individual photos. Each photo requires:
- The pillar of SHPE
- Brief description as to how it relates to the event
- The number of students in the photo
- Chapter represented. Pictures must be uploaded by 11:59 PM of the corresponding day to the SHPE Regional CUP page.

And the results are in! Yes, we know we made you wait a while, however, it was important not to publish the results on April Fool's Day. After a very impressive final round and intriguing conversations with the evaluators, the Final Standings are the following:

But before we get there, we would like to thank all the chapters that participated in the competition. You have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, time management skills, and most importantly, SHPE passion. The dedication shown here proves that your chapter has the skills to succeed in any challenge presented. You should be very proud of yourself.

The 2015 National SHPE Cup winner with 305 points is:

Tied for the second place with 285 points each:

University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez

After a long week, the time is finally here. The SHPE Familia is incredibly proud of the passion, team work, and time management of each participating chapter. However, only three chapters will participate of the final round. Congratulations to:

1. Stony Brook University
2. University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez
3. University of California, Irvine

Welcome to the SHPE madness. In this final week, your chapter needs to coordinate an event that showcase all SHPE Pillars. In the post, include a 250 words or less explanation of how your event developed the participants in all SHPE Pillars. Remember to read the National SHPE Cup Rules and that it does not matter how big or small your chapter is, anyone can become the next National Champion!

FINAL CHALLENGE: If SHPE was a person, what would you tell him/her? Construct one creative video (up to three minutes) addressing this question to obtain 50 points. You can tell SHPE more than one thing. Responses can be addressed in multitude of ways, but make sure to highlight the SHPE Pillars and SHPE Core Programs in the response. 15 points will be awarded for every SHPE Pillar and SHPE Core Program that is mentioned in your response.

THE CATCH: The video must feature at least 5 chapter members, mention (tell SHPE) something pertaining to the 5 SHPE pillars or SHPE Core programs. The video must start by stating “If SHPE was a person, I would tell him/her…” and be uploaded to this page by the specified deadline when the SHPE Cup will be over. The chapter with the most likes and shares will obtain a bonus of 25 points.

After a very long 4th week of the SHPE Cup, the following chapters have overcome all the adversities:

5. University of California, Irvine
6. Embry Riddle Aeronautical University

Congratulations on making it to the Semi-Finals! However, this week will be a little troublesome. Would you survive this week’s SHPE Cup madness?

CHALLENGES OF THE WEEK:
I. Who is your chapter’s advisor? Tell us his/her story and how he/she have positively influenced the growth of your chapter! (250 words max - 50pts)
II. Your chapter is rich in traditions. We want to meet your past presidents (that have already graduated)! Show us his/her SHPE story, the contribution to your chapter during his/her year as president, and how he/she is supporting Hispanics at the moment! (250 words max – 25 points each)

PS: Only three (3) chapters will make it to the Final Round. Remember that you only have one pillar left for this week’s event.

As leaders, you have survived the regional rounds. However, the most challenging weeks in your SHPE career are soon to come. The National SHPE Cup rounds have started, and the first National weekly challenge will be posted today (March 4, 2015) to test your skills as leaders.

Day 1 of week 4: The deadline of this week will be Monday at 11:59 PST. Remember to read the rules for the national rounds.

AND THE RESULTS ARE IN!...Congratulations to the 4 teams remaining!

We have seen a lot of great events, but we would like to challenge you to focus more on the membership increase for the next rounds. The scoring points will be weighed as described below:

40% of the points will be based on participation in SHPE Pride (posting pictures)
60% of the points awarded will be based on percentage membership growth.

Remember, membership growth not only includes getting more people to our organization but also ensuring that all your members have paid. Make sure to follow the rules for posting pictures and bonus points!

Who will go on to the final round? Will SHPE UPRM take home the gold? or will CSULB knock them down?.. Perhaps UofA or UTEP will rise to the top?...
