🌟Member Organization Spotlights! 🌟

Our Member Organizations work in all sectors of science, engineering, technology, and math – from increasing laboratory access to helping everyone learn more about their natural environment. Check out three incredible organizations below making a difference in STEM!

⭐ Science is Elemental aims to reach all kids, focusing on ages 7-12, to encourage more understanding of and respect for the science in everything they do, through integrated science workshops, fiction books showing what scientists do, and support for teachers.

⭐ The Port of Los Angeles organizes and supports a variety of educational programs to foster a better understanding of the marine environment and ecosystems, shipping and cargo operations, and the importance of international trade and commerce. In addition to supporting students and teachers, the Port offers resources for college students, educational groups, undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, and nonprofit and community organizations.

Let’s put the M in STEM!

B-Relyt Math Collective was one of the earliest organizations to join the LA STEM Collective -- they've been working for nearly 10 years to support the students of Los Angeles with math education.

“Math is the gatekeeper to opportunity, and research shows that strong math skills expand career access. That’s why we focus on math.” – Kimlin Johnson, CEO & Founder of BMC.

We had a chance to sit down with Kimlin, CEO & Founder of BMC and hear about the amazing work that BMC does. Check out our complete interview on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/b-relyt-collective-factor-la-stem-collective-bb6zc/

BMC is gearing up for a huge celebration of math and STEM on March 8, 2026 at El Camino College. Head over to https://www.b-relyt.org/ to register!

🌟Meet the Collective!🌟

Introducing four incredible organizations making a difference every day with math and science! From project-based learning to math puzzles, online simulations and in person clubs, these organizations are supporting students both in and out of the classroom.

➕ ILLUMINDS specializes in delivering quality, project-based STEM programming for grades K-8. Their programs are designed to develop key skills in mathematics, problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking. They've crafted a curriculum that aligns with educational standards while ensuring that students have fun as they brainstorm, design, and create. ILLUMINDS aims to inspire students to discover their individual purpose and explore career opportunities in STEM.

➕ Tile Farm aims to bring beautiful, joyful, and creative math experiences to people of all ages. We create engaging tools and learning experiences, both digital and hands-on, for students, teachers, and families.

➕ LabXchange is a global science classroom, designed for every curious mind. Developed at Harvard University with support from the Amgen Foundation, this dynamic digital platform makes high-quality STEMM education accessible to all–completely free. It links learning to career paths, and empowers everyone, everywhere, to explore and follow their own path in science. In addition to a free online resource repository for learners and educators, LabXchange offers virtual webinars and training programs for educators in Los Angeles County and beyond.

➕ The STEAM Circle is a hands-on club where kids explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through creative design challenges. Each session invites students to think like engineers and creators—designing, building, testing, and redesigning projects using everyday materials.
