Meet Amy Lewaniak!

Amy is a busy mom of two little ones (ages 2 and 4), works full-time, and somehow still finds time to train for some seriously big goals. This summer, she’s preparing to swim the length of Lake Tahoe, an incredible challenge that comes after successfully swimming the width of the lake just four months after giving birth to her first child.

Amy is also the creator of the Instagram account Moms Who Ocean Swim, where she inspires and supports other moms who are chasing big goals, embracing adventure, and proving that motherhood and athletic ambition can go hand in hand.

She has joined our Swim the Coast a Cause Challenge to help raise funds for Play in the Waves, bringing swim education, water safety, and ocean access opportunities to more children and families.

Choose from 7 milestone destinations along the coast or take on the full 94.5-mile challenge. Your $29 registration includes a finisher’s medal, and participants who create a fundraising page can earn even more great prizes.

Today is World Oceans Day 🌊

The ocean gives us so much: adventure, inspiration, connection, and life itself. Yet access to the ocean is not equal for everyone.

At One With the Ocean, we believe every person deserves the opportunity to experience the water safely and confidently. Through swim education, water safety programs, surf experiences, and ocean-based learning, we’re working to break down barriers and create lifelong connections to the sea.

This World Oceans Day, we celebrate the ocean and recommit ourselves to protecting it, learning from it, and sharing it with future generations.

Whether you’re a swimmer, surfer, paddler, beachgoer, or ocean lover, thank you for being part of this community.

Together, we can create a world where everyone has the chance to experience the power of the ocean.
